In a statement issued late Monday, Berger said the removal of those papers was unintentional. But law enforcement sources told CNN that some of the papers he is said to have taken from the National Archives were stuffed into his socks as well as other parts of his clothing.
That allegation drew sharp responses from two of Berger's associates. President Clinton's former spokesman, Joe Lockhart, said Berger "categorically denies that he ever took documents and stuffed them in his socks.

That will be the attempted spin. But it won't work this time. Not when national security, secrecy laws and classified material are involved. That is until some low level, no-name Clinton appointee holdover publishes his new tell all book claiming he saw Condi shove documents into her bra.
All this and andy rooney tonight on 60 minutes.

"Bill Richardson was on Fox News and made comments that Sandy's behavior is just Sandy's usual disheveled, disorganized self. He said Sandy has always been sloppy and this situation is only Sandy being his usual sloppy self."
Doesn't it just give you a warm, fuzzy feeling to hear that Clinton's National Security Advisor was just "being his usual sloppy self?"
This comment speaks LOUDLY about the incompetence of the Clinton administration and it's virtual inability and lack of resolve in combating terrorism.
I hope that clip gets played over and over before the election. This story has legs (and socks!), and the vast left-wing alphabet soup media cannot ignore it. Sure, they're try to spin it - heck, they ARE spinning it. But, this time, you're average citizen isn't buying.

"Oh, everyone does it. It's no big deal. Get over it."Precisely. I'm in contact (a nasty, hateful series of contacts) with someone I suspect is a DNC paid spinner who floats her stuff on a smaller forum. Here is what her latest float was:
The same sort of "Serious Felony" gets committed around here everyday. That's why all facilities with Secret containers use volunteer security monitors from the staff that actually uses the material. It protects that employees from themselves and this type of very common situation.
Sorry to disappoint you spazamataz, but this happens everyday and this is why it was a non-starter until Bush needed something to distract goobers like you.

The sad part is that the White House and the RNC will not capitalize on this. Gimme a break! This investigation has been going on since October and the story breaks the week before the convention! You don't think the RNC and WH are capitalizing right now?

Maybe those were rolled-up documents stuffed in the front of his pants and maybe he was just thinking about Hillary. If he gets that way thinking about Hillary, that's even WEIRDER than if he stuffed the documents down his pants!

Sandy Berger and Bill Richardson always struck me as having perpetually clammy hands.

The Clinton years have made you too cynical.
And Condi is rather small-busted. I doubt any documents would have fitted in there.
Don't get media spin confused with the law. Theft of classified documents is not something you can just spin, especially after the indictments come down.

"I want to know when the Commission learned. If it was before his April(?) appearance before the commission...sheesh..."
That's a good question. When did the investigation of Berger's home and office take place? The article I'm looking at as I type just says it was "earlier this year"--anyone have anything more specific?

"Can't they play by the dems rules just once and hammer the crap out of them?"
It's hard to do without the mainstream media on your side. Only the MSM can give a story critical mass, and if the Reps get out too far ahead of the story, the MSM's motherly, pro-Dem instincts will kick in and they'll spin it against the Reps, e.g., "suspicious timing," "who leaked it?", "no big deal," "VRWC floated bogus story of documents in socks - it was a briefcase," etc. If the MSM thinks that the Reps are driving this story, they will jump in to protect the Dems.

Wonder how many threads are on the DUmmy site today? I'd love to see what they are saying about this issue.I went, the silence was deafening.

Your pro-Dem spinner sounds EXACTLY - right down to the nasty "spazamataz" reworking of your name - like a nasty Aussie woman who I used to cross swords with in a political chatroom in Excite.

Her response to you bears a striking resemblance to some other things that float...Agreed. I'm just hippin' everyone to what the spin is going to be.
I'm glad I know her. I get an inside headsup on what the DNC blastfax will be for tomorrow.

maybe rather than have his package airbrushed to look bigger like AlGore did
for the cover of Time, he stuffed the papers there to make
it look like an AlGore type package...
maybe Sandy Berger had an upcoming cover shoot for GQ?
who names their male son "sandy" ,any way. he sounds like
a nasty vegan sandwich. dirt burger

I surmised she was a paid DNC spinner and she went nuts. Showed me I was right when she reacted so wildly.
