His claim of inadvertance is too far-fetched to be taken seriously. He did it on purpose. And why WOULD he do it on purpose? The obvious answer is that he was trying to cover up facts that were embarrassing to himself and to Clinton. I would not be surprised if there were a whole lot more documents he lifted, and perhaps we should also see if he planted documents. These Clinton revisionists will stop at nothing.

Sandy Burglar: "Sorry, Brilliant. Not just embarrasing.
I inadvertantly stole and unintentionally destroyed the documents pertaining to US security
for a very important reason: To protect the myself, the Clintons and our "Mistress of Cover-Up" Gorelick.
Which documents to steal, you ask? Documents showing incremental changes in the "facts" as they were changed over time.
Why steal them, you ask? Well, because I could.
I finally got my own copy of Gorelick's book "Destruction of Evidence".

his client inadvertently removed

And inadvertently placed them in his pocket. And inadvertently found them in said pocket when he got home.

Bill Clinton inadvertently got a BJ.

What a joke these people are.

This is the first article I have seen where he put documents in his "pants pocket". Initial articles just said pants. We should be careful not to overplay our hand here... it is being stated that he stuffed documents down his pants. Of course this is no way lets this guy off the hook but we will be accused of smear and distortion if we don't get our facts straight. Taking documents is guilty enough and if Berger is so stupid and so guilty as to rely on a "sloppiness" argument the reasoning naturally follows that such sloppiness is indicative of the Clinton administration's approach to terrorists which contributed to 9/11.

"He knew it was a technical violation, and he admits that it was an error in judgment."

In other words, he knowingly perpetrated a felony.

Could it be that Richard Clarke needed these documents to fill in the blanks in that book he was writing during this time frame?

WHO leaked this story?

We also need to remember that Berger is working for the Kerry campaign. The theft of the document could well be information that exposes clinton administration malfeasance or misfeasance. The document could also be further vindication for George Bush.

In any case, you can be sure, the document will hurt the kerry campaign.

I know guys' pants pockets are usually bigger than gals' pants pockets, but even so, you don't just "inadvertently" stuff a bunch of documents in your pants pockets. You'd have to fold them up into a small enough square first so they would fit without bulging too much or sticking out the top.

Bergler is acting as if he was just sitting in the archives and *shazam*, the documents just all of a sudeen folded themselves and jumped into his pockets. He was a victim.

Then when he got home I guess the documents just leaped out of his pockets and into a trash can, totally unbeknownst to him.

Something very incriminating must have been in those documents for him to take a fall like this.

The silver lining in this story is that if the press does its job, this will totally overshadow the release of that silly 9/11 report. This incident will taint the results.

Could this have been buried any deeper, and edited any more, than in the NY Times today?

his client inadvertently removed several copies

See, he's completely innocent. Who hasn't inadvertantly dropped classified documents down their pants and mistakenly ambled out of the National Archive with them?

"Well, you see, your Honor, I got confused after all that reading, and when I stood up to leave, I thought the 'return' bin was in my pants, so that's where I dropped the classified documents. I didn't even realize it until I got home and took off my pants and, whalla...there they were and I got scared, so, since I was standing by my shredder, I accidentally shredded a couple of them by mistake....see I'm totally innocent and when Hillary is President, she'll give me a pardon anyway, so no need to bother putting me in prison."

To all on this board if you get a chance to read Ron Browns Body do so. It is very informative and will explain a lot of what has gone on in this country under Clinton and the Democrats.
I believe America is truly at a crossroads and it is a real critical time in our country and where we are headed.
The Clintons came into office and probably brought thousands of lawyers with them. From his beginning in Little Rock up to today he has had this same M.O.
Clinton came to DC and the first thing he did was to dismantle the F.B.I. and C.I.A. I believe he did this to pave the way for his corrupt operations and to take control of our government with no oversight.By putting all the Investigative Units out to pasture he could say and do as he pleased and with the help pf those liberals in Congress he has manipulated our government to the point he along with the Democrats in his Mafia type Family can even control or overthrow it.
Clinton brought people along and none of them has background or Security Clearances.Remember the F.B.I. files that were missing and the man Hilliary brought to the WhiteHouse for Security. They all had access to all FBI files and CIA materials. No telling how much of this stuff they copied and have even today and no telling how much blackmail is still involved.
Read Ron Browns Body and get a real insight into the Clinton machine and how people have been manipulated and even done away with. How our government has been sold to the highest bidder.
The Liberal Democrats in Congress belong to Bill,s Mafia type family and they are out to control America by any means they deem necessary.
On top of this the so called "Mainstream Media" were it investigated I believe we would find they are all tied into this family . It stands to reason if one observes all that goes on and watch what the so called "Mainstream Media" sweeps under the rug and what agenda they constantly push their can be no doubt they are in bed together and manipulating our government.
"MemoGate" was covered up from the very beginning until they could put it into the hands they wanted and now they have swept it under the rug.
Clinton left a machine in DC in place and it operates even today and they subvert everything George Bush does. The greatest mistake Bush made was to allow those Clinton put in place to remain. They not only sold Bush out they have sold our country out. Our government in DC needs to be purged! Of all the Presidents in our past there are none that have the number of bodies and unexplained deaths or accidents noine that have the numbers that have been convicted or indicted as Clinton. Now they want to put two more lawyers in the WhiteHouse. America, you had better awake!

So if know that robbing a bank is technically a violation but still do it, will the cops not arrest me?

Good to see US justice is so even among all its citizens regardless of money and connections.

His claim of inadvertance is too far-fetched

It has the appaearance that he's not even trying to come up with a convincing story. It looks as if he just walked on, stuffed his pockets as were with incriminating documents, top secret papers, walked out without any security challenge (which was where the system really failed), and probably shredded and/or burned the offending history. I'd much rather have seen on the news - "Sandy Berger in hospital, in stable condition, after tussle with security guard. Berger said to have been in possession of classified documents."

Does anyone know what role he serves in the Kerry campaign? And I'm curious if anyone knows what role Joe Wilson played in the campaign, at least over the past few weeks, at least?
