There are a lot of rumours going around that one of the principal speakers at the Dem Convention is barely holding together some career threatening info. Martin O'Malley, Mayor of Baltimore, is out of the house due to an affair (or many) and reports are there may be a pregnancy. Now I have got this from two separate sources and they are reliable (and not politically hostile to O'Malley). His father-in-law is pretty powerful guy and his wife is a former judge. Anybody hear anything on this?
Remind me again why women are allowed to vote? < /sarcasm>
All seriousness aside, what exactly has he done as Mayor of Balmer that has made him better than any recent mayor? Has he done even one constructive thing in Baltimordor?....or is he just purdy?
*ping*
Remind me too.
When you say you are sorry for being snippy and nasty to me, I will answer. You start by telliing me what bad things he has done to Baltimore.
So what has he done bad in Baltimordor:
1. Promised zero tolerance for criminals. He forgot the "zero" and implemented tolerance.
2. Bankrupted the school system.
3. Maintains a climate hostile to business.
4. Hostile to the police force.
5. Winks at illegal immigration. Some would even say he supports illegal immigration to expand Demoncrat voter base
6. City officials associated with him being investigated for corruption.
7. When commenting on homeland security program in Baltimordor, he said he is more worried about President Bush than Osama Bin Laden.
8. Is creating an entire city agency to investigate fraud, corruption and mismanagement in city government....
Need I go on??
"For some reason, I've spelled it that way ("rumour") my entire life."
I wouldn't spell rumor or color that way, but for a lot of those other words I always am inclined to use the brit spellings. Honour, esp. looks better to me that way. I used to be obsessive about "correcting" it, but I'm not anymore. It takes too much time to fix my many, many other spelling mistakes, which are real errors. I also like the spelling "grey", to me that evokes a light color, while "gray" seems quite a few shades darker.
I don't even bother trying to fix it when I do it... I just don't see the big deal... I mean, if we let the British mangle the language, why can't I? ;)

You are absolutely right. O'Malley is not a moderate Democrat in the Billy Don Schaffer mold. He is as left wing as John F. Kohn.
"better than any recent mayor since Schaeffer"
LOL that's not saying much! There is only 1 other mayor since Schaeffer - Curt Schmoke!
I guess you could say he's better in some ways than Schmoke, but I'm not sure. I don't think in his 8+ years Schmoke said as many stupid things (including the slogan) as O'Malley has already! And I had pretty high hopes - excepting he's a Dem.
Speaking of all this, I wish we at least had Schaeffer back!
"I am truly sorry that you seem to be the perfect example of the "orgasm factor" that El Rushbo talks about when commenting on female voters penchant for supporting Demoncrats."
Over here! Here! "Ultra-conservative" right-wing native MDer b!$!@$% here!
(You're not including ME in that "OF"!!!)

Wasn't some clown named Dru Burns acting mayor for part of a year? He bore similarities to Kingfish of Amos n' Andy fame.
They are and will.
lol..really?
I live in MD and OMalley is a joke. The schools in the city are in complete debt, crime is up, and business is leaving.
To say he is better than Schmoke is not a compliment.
He is going nowhere on the national scene..he is a left wing tax and spender. BIG TIME!!
Hon, I am in Baltimore as we speak and my puter has been crashed for five days. I got a new one today! BTW I hear that the lady in question has a baby!
I have heard that from several people. My question is why it has not come out in the news yet?
