Sharon urges exodus of Jews from France Associated Press
Jerusalem - Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Sunday urged French Jews to flee the country to escape a rising tide of anti-Semitism, while acknowledging that the French government is fighting racial violence.
The latest French Interior Ministry figures show 510 anti-Jewish acts or threats in the first six months of 2004 - compared to 593 for all of last year.
"If I have to advocate to our brothers in France, I will tell them one thing," Mr. Sharon told visiting American Jewish leaders in Jerusalem. "Move to Israel, as early as possible."
Anti-Semitic acts against Jewish schools, synagogues and cemeteries have risen in France in recent years, coinciding with growing tensions in the Middle East. Many attacks have been blamed on young Muslims.
"We see the spread of the wildest anti-Semitism there," Mr. Sharon said.

I am quite confident that French Jews can make up their own minds about this, without Sharon's help.
I say we make a commitment right now that we dont save their cheese eatting asses when the lslamofacist take over.

Two years ago my daughters were deciding where to take a vacation trip. They almost decided on going with the local university group to France, but then four synagogues were bombed. My daughters have Jewish last names and chose to stay in the U.S. I would not want to be living in France right now if I were Jewish.
I'll bet the Germans are thinking, "Why did we invade the Frogs? All we had to do was wait for sixty years for them to be on our side!"
Sharon isn't saying they can't make up their own mind. He's just making a public statement of the obvious. Too bad there weren't more such public statements made in the 1930s about living in Germany. Of course, then there was no place to go. The Socialist President of America was actively keeping out Jews and there was no Israel.
Times have changed and the Jews of France are stupid to live in the Islamic hell-hole that "country" is becoming.
So, now the world is not getting it's fair share of Jews; this is a new complaint! :^)
I understand Ariel Sharon wanting to be welcoming; on its own merits and because Israel needs a population influx.
Ghettoizing? You call Jews living (almost exclusively) in the U.S., Israel, Canada, and Britain ghettoizing? That's a mighty large ghetto, Torie. .....And a mighty fine one. And anyway, they're just not welcome in many of the nations you'd like to them to disperse to. I see no problem with the greatest nation on earth (US) having a virtual monopoly on their talents. In fact, I welcome it heartily.
Putting aside the rhetoric about FDR, it was indeed shameful that America did not welcome the oppressed and endangered Jews threatened by the dark Fascist menace, as it had in the past, and did in the future. It cannot be defended or justified. It was wrong, and a shameful episode in American history. I hate it when the shining city on the hill falls short of its ideals.
I have a more catholic view. But of course, the individuals in question should chart their own course, and if they want to come to America, then I would favor legislation to facilitate that. But we should not be selfish with such extraordinary talent.
I have a certain creativity. By the way, I forgot Russia. Russia needs its remaining Jews too, and quite demonstrably.
I think Arik has an obligation to let French Jews know that they are not obligated to live in a country that may not find them desirable and that they have options.
Perhaps Arab countries would accept them?
