NEW ORLEANS –– An explosive new study says some gay people can turn straight if they really want to.

That conclusion clashes with that of major mental health organizations, which say that sexual orientation is fixed and that so-called reparative therapy may actually be harmful.

"The sample is terrible, totally tainted, totally unrepresentative of the gay and lesbian community,"

Who is David Elliot to determine what is representative of the gay community? As far as I can see, nobody is disputing that all 200 of the subjects were gay.

Why so explosive? Homosexuality is a behavior. Just stop doing that.

To the left, this is just like admitting that an aborted fetus is a human being. The left's two unshakable sacred cows are homosexuality and abortion. The family must be destroyed.

It would be naive to think ever member of any group is cookie cutter identical, after all, it is known that some vegisexuals can go ambidextrous.

Funny thing about (most) homos -- they claim that their own "orientation" is (genetically) fixed, but at the same time insist that heteros have somehow been "brainwashed" into being straight by our "patriarchal" culture.

.....And they don't even see the contradiction.

Have you sent this to Bill O'Reilly? I bet he'd blow a gasket on this one...

Homosexual Agenda Ping - Looks like a good article if someone could post a few bits from it.

I am very lazy, have wretchedly slow dial up and hate to go here and there on the net when it takes many minutes.

Anyone want to copy'n'past some of the good parts?

Let me know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.

I guess the professional homosexuals could say that if a homosexual quit being one, he wasn't a "real" one to begin with.

Does that mean I didn't used to be a "real" alcoholic?

Some Gays Can Go Straight,

Yeah, but can a nicotine addict put down a fag?

Well, actually a nicotine addict CAN put down a fag. I decided not to have a third heart attack. So I gave up smoking, the most serious addiction I ever experienced. And it worked.

As with most thing, this is not quite black & white.

I am straight, but have known a number of gay people--some way out there, others in the closet. I think they fall into three categories: (1) those that are born gay (--it definitely is possible); (2) those who are gay to be rebellious or different (not sure if this is conscious or not); (3) those who are weak minded and/or outcasts & have been talked into it. Of these categories, those in the latter two can be "repatriated" if they so desire. For what its worth, I think this applies to about 50% of the gays I've met.

I decided not to have a third heart attack.

So that begs the analogy, can or should an sexually transmitted AIDS sufferer give up being gay even though the damage is already done?

An explosive new study says some gay people can turn straight if they really want to.

Why so explosive? Homosexuality is a behavior. Just stop doing that.

Or learn new behaviors to replace old ones.

As I have said on here before, I do really believe that for a small percentage of people, gender identification or attraction is ambiguous or there is present a genetic or chromosal abnormality, like an XXY person. But for the rest who claim the title, it's a choice, like Anne Heche. An experiment, an attention getter, or learned behaviors.

Why can a person suddenly 'discover' that they are gay, come out of the closet? But a gay person can seemingly never (if you buy into the rhetoric) discover they are straight? Of course, the gay lobby is why.

No real surprises here. Just eyerolls and barfing. I suspect the Johns are pleased for the endorsement. More barfing.

This line caught my eye:

"We feel our organization and it's values are well represented by the Kerry/Edwards ticket.

IT'S VALUES!!! Aarghhh.... Well THAT says it all.

LESS THAN 10 yrs ago the DSM3 R, which is used by Mental Health community for diagnosis behavior disorders, etc, listed homosexuality as a treatable disorder wherein the person could return to being a heterosexual. It was only the gay pride lobbying that had it removed, and changed to say it was in genes, a normal behavior. How quickly we forget.
