Ron Reagan to host DNC party Boston, MA, Jul. 12

(UPI) -- Former White House first son Ron Reagan is expected to be one of several big names hosting an exclusive party at the Democratic National Convention in Boston.

Reagan, son of former president and staunch conservative Ronald Reagan, is being joined by scores of celebrities including Ben Affleck, Janeane Garofalo, Bianca Jagger and Harvey Weinstein as hosts of a party on Wednesday, July 28.

Tickets for the party start at $1,000 and top out at $50,000. It is being organized by The Creative Coalition, a non-partisan non-profit group comprised of members of the entertainment community to educate and advocate on behalf of social and political issues.

Sens. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and Evan Bayh, D-Ind., are two of the 13 senators sponsoring the event, along with 19 House members. The non-profit also has events planned at the Republican National Convention in New York in August.

you guys are missing the obvious.

If the Democrats want to highlight a worthless member of a presidential family, then the Republicans should fight fire with fire.

Ron Reagan Jr. speaks in Boston.

Roger Clinton sings in New York City.

I leave it to y'all to decide which one's the bigger joke.

it's about the attention he is still craving.

Gay people do that, it seems....just like when they decry being stereotyped, yet do the Judy Garland dressup gig every time they can find an excuse for a parade.

It is being organized by The Creative Coalition, a non-partisan non-profit group

Gadhafi needs to sue them. They're neither creative nor non-partizan.

There's probably a warrant out for him in NYC, so he couldn't do dat...

This article should make it very clear that Nancy is part of the other side of the family thinking process on this subject and on many others.

nancy approves of what Ron is doing and she made that clear by calling for the research herself.

Neither do I believe that she does not know the difference.
One might believe that Charles Wick (honorary pall bearer) was the one who has most influenced her in this direction; or perhaps her many liberal friends, but she knows exactly what she is doing. Why is another whole question since it grossly dishonors her husband. But then, she never had his belief system in life, either.

I think that Nancy is keeping Ron Jr. in check for now. He has promised to speak only about stem-cell research and will not bash President Bush.

However, I hate to see the day that Nancy passes and joins her husband. I think that Ron Jr. will then go full throttle for the Democrats and truly damage his dear father's legacy.

This is so sad. I wonder if Ron has even considered that the idiots who will be cheering him on at the DNC convention are the same people who wouldn't think twice about spitting on his father and/or hurt his father if possible. Ron (he is not a junior) is such a major damaged person. I wonder how he sleeps at night knowing that he is such a loser and a disappointment to his father. All those thousands of people across the country who paid homage to his father during the funeral week have his number...so his speaking at the convention will not do anything to change our minds who will always love his father. I just have to think that he must really hate himself to do this so close to his father's death...just sad.

So has this non-partisan, non-profit group organized a party to be held in NYC for the GOP convention?

Michael Reagan is every bit as much a whore using the good name of his father for his own profit as Ron P. I don't want to hear from any of them on the GOP convention.

The Reagan children have the contempt for categories and boundaries that is so typical among liberals. They don't know where to draw the line between politics and the rest of life. Only such deranged people could repudiate their father's beliefs so visibly and blatantly within two months after his death. They are disgusting and should be made objects of public disgust.

So now it's "RONALD" Reagan, just another subtle jab and an insult towards greatest president of my lifetime.

Huh? Michael Reagan a whore because he talks so much about his dad? He says mostly the same things his father would on his show. I don't see the problem. Michael is RR's true heir. Why should he hide that?
