Prayer Request for a Tiny Angel

I am PINGING you all tonight because we have had a tragedy in our family today.

 

My little sister (Renee, 33) and her husband (Kirk, 39) were expecting their first child today.  Renee was induced this morning at a hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.  She was having normal contractions for about three hours and then after her water was broken she began to bleed heavily.  She was rushed in for an emergency C-Section and although the baby was delivered within 4 minutes she had lost too much blood for them to revive her.

My niece, little Samantha Sangsland is now in heaven and my sister and her husband are without the baby they have been proudly waiting to bring home.

Renee and Kirk are very faithful Christians and have much support from their church but I would like to ask for you all to please pray for them tonight and in the coming weeks as they plan a funeral to bury their first-born.

 

I am not able to comprehend this at the moment as I am too sad to be very coherent.  I will be flying out to be with them in the next few days and just cannot imagine what they are facing.  I cannot even imagine being able to even breathe, much less function.

 

We have been really busy around here, enjoying having our family back together after Dan's return from overseas and as such I have been very tardy in getting the latest prayer requests together for Logan's Miracle Room.  I apologize, and ask for you to please include us in your prayers.

 

It is kind of late for me to be putting this thread up, so I won't be able to respond very quickly, but I wanted to get the request up ASAP.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come together, as friends who've prayed for each other this past year...Lord hold little Samantha, hold my nephew ... hold them together on Your lap. Oh dear Lord, please comfort Samantha's Mommy & Daddy and her whole family. I'm not going to ask "why", Lord...YOU had Samantha's life planned before she was conceived, and You knew what was best for her.

Lord, give her parents comfort. I pray that they feel your presence, minute by minute as they work through this. Lord, please let the family all travel safely to be together during this time.

Oh Lord...thank you for loving us, even though we don't deserve it. Lord, thank you for answering our prayers, ALL the time, even though it's not the answer we want.

Oh, MOsby, I'm so sorry. I will add Renee and Kirk to my prayer list. Our Loving God, the God of All Comfort, will draw close to His dear children during this time of severe trial.

Tell them Samantha was loved from the moment she was conceived; from the moment she was created, this child knew nothing but love. Their love made Samantha, and that love made Samantha's life beautiful. Death cannot take that away.

When they too at last leave earth, she will greet them at the Door of Heaven - and they will at last receive the love that is now, and forevermore will be, Samantha...
