A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Thanks, Mixer!
1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

On a somewhat serious note, T Man, most here know my son, Steve, is a Physician Assistant (PhD Candidate in Health Science, MPAS, PA-C) who
before 9/11 volunteered to be a member of
It is part of -- and -- .
(URL for DMAT CLICK HERE)
They now are an important part of The Federal Emergency Management Agency, have Federal ID badges, and now are given civilian job protection and medical coverage when on assignment.
They can be deployed to anywhere there is a disaster - hurricane, floods, fires, earthquakes, biological incidents, etc., and have done so several times.
They are at all times packed and ready to go when called, by military transport, or leased trucks, if deployed within driving range.
His unit is fully operational with a complete treatment tent and their own communication tower and personnel, and were one of 4 teams deployed to Hurricane Lili in Louisiana 2 years ago.
They must take essentials so they can operate without any additional help (if in an isolated area) for 48 hours, including necessary food and treatment supplies.
After 9/11, their unit was scheduled to be at Ground Zero in November, rendering *First Assistance* to those down in the pit clearing debris.
They would have assessed, treated and passed on to appropriate care outside the team; housed on a ship in the harbor once there.
Because it turned out there were enough crews closer to New York City able to respond, they were backed down.
He just received word today they are scheduled for the end of August to go to: * DRUM ROLL * - - New York City for The Republican Convention.....
He will not be able to share details for obvious reasons.
No, I am not fearful for his safety, knowing he has always served God and been under His protection and guidance, reinforced by the prayers of many.

He just received word today they are scheduled for the end of August to go to: * DRUM ROLL * - - New York City for The Republican Convention.....Great news. I'm sure everything will go peacefully over there.
Now, if it was at the other convention with all the various rabble and riff-raff assembled, I wouldn't be so sure.

Did you see the reply I made to you about your Ohio comment today? Yes'm.
I try to avoid commentary on my Ohioan co-workers.
I have opinions about them best left unexpressed.

How's Joe? He claims to be thirsty about every thirty minutes.
I think he just wants someone to give him hose-water.
