July 16, 2004 -- Sopranos gangster "Paulie Walnuts" joined a mob of diehard Republicans yesterday at a Queens fund-raiser that helped pump cash into President Bush's campaign.
Actor Tony Sirico, who plays the mobster on the hit HBO series "The Sopranos," joined more than 100 people at the Belle Harbor Yacht Club, which was sponsored by the Rockaway Republicans.
"I'm here because I'm a far-to-the-right Republican," he said.
At another Bush gathering in Midtown, rap impresario Sean "Puffy" Combs showed up at Connolly's Bar to help promote his new MTV show and get out the vote.

The article goes on to say that Puffy was not there "to be partisan."
Good to see another celeb (Sirico) is in the Bush camp.

"MTV's" Rock the Vote charity is technically "non-partisan" because it is a 501c3. So is Russell Simmons' similar rap/hip hop organization.
These were described in the article as fundraisers, hard to be "non-partisan" at a fundraiser.

(Paulie takes out his Italian, custom-made comb, brushes back the streaks in his silver-tinted hair. He then takes Christopher and walks away from this thread. After heisting a TV set and DVD recorder, of course.

Well there goes his career in Hollyweird. The Neo-Communist Mafia is hard on rightie actors. Ask Tom Selleck about how hard it is once you come out of the political closet.
Notice how very minor talents like Julia Roberts rise to the top once they take on the Neo-Com line. Is Brad "Arm" Pitt a talented actor or just another acting school schlub who got a break when he agreed to be Neo-Com stooge?
How about that weak voiced ho' Madonna or that idiot no talent Jessica Lange. Now those two should drop to their knees and thank G-d that their minuscule talents have been unjustifiably rewarded.
If you're not convinced, then take a look at the "hottest" actors in Hollyweird and ask yourself if there aren't talented actors in your local community theater group that are just as good? In my acting class there were at least 10 people who could do the roles any of these Neo-Com stooges have done.
The final insult is that non-talent James "Mrs. Barbara Streisand" Brolin getting an Emmy nomination for his "portrayal" of Ronald Reagan. Barf. Retch. Puke.

I just started watching the Soprano's on DVD via Netflix.
I like Tony Sirico's acting. They're all excellent anti-heroes.
We never give the people who play "the bad guy" enough credit, but if you consider who much we enjoy watching them receive the wages of evil in the end, that should tell you enough of just how good of a job they've done.
Either way, it's interesting entertainment.

Tom Selleck was asked *first* to play Indiana Jones but Magnum PI obligations made it impossible for him to accept.
Aaaah...just imagine, if he'd had the time.
*swoon*

In my younger and wilder days I used to pal around with several guys who were low-level members of a Gambino family crime crew in NYC who all eventually wound up doing heavy jail time. The strangest thing I remember about these guys and most of their mob buddies was how ultra-patriotic they were(this was during the Vietnam war).
Go figure!
