"Southwest serves honey-roasted peanuts on its flights."
And many of us find them not worth the effort of opening the package.

None of the aircraft systems I have worked use freon. The pressurisation turbines periodically require a special grade lubricant servicing. Those turbines turn at very high speeds.

Thanks.
On that awful flight I experienced, they never told us what the problem was ... just that there was one (which we had all figured out by the time they said anything an hour into the flight!). There were no fumes, funny smells, or anything ... the cabin simply never pressurized sufficiently.

Wasn't the cause of Payne Stewart's plane crash de-pressurization(SP?)

#164. your description in your last post describes an ECS problem perfectly. Something was wrong with that particular ECS system.

I don't think it was an inflight mechanical problem, or even one on the ground.
Sounds to me like some folks brought food onto the plane from an airport terminal restaurant that was bad.

Not familiar with that incident. However the intended coach for LSU in the late 70's, "Bo" Rein's aircraft loss was suspected of happening through pressurisation failure.

Faulty outflow valve. The aircraft came into Sanford the night before with masks down and the problem was pencil whipped.
But you won't hear the FBI or FAA say that.

is hydraulic fluid volatile enough to enter the air so quickly?Nope. Bubbles in the line tend to cause problems.

RedBloodedAmerican,Bad food that they brought on board because all you get on the flight are snacks .So that could explain why only certain people where sick on a flight of over 100 people.Wonder where they got it.
