The Democrats should be careful what they wish for. They should fear a Condi Rice as VP. True, Condi Rice may cause problems with Bush's conservative base which won't like her socially liberal beliefs, but she'd likely more than make up for it among women and blacks, two demographic groups that Democrats must win big among.

Why do I think Bush would pick Condi Rice? The same reason he picked Cheney -- she is close to him and he trusts her.

I'M SO SICK OF THIS "DUMP CHENEY" STUFF!

There's even a letter to the editor in our paper today about "that awful Cheney." It's compelled me to write a letter in response.

According to this article, Cheney has only 21% favorable rating. Sheesh...he must be the most disliked politician in America. I think it's bull.

None of this really makes sense. Cheney needs a new doctor in order for him to say he needs to take a break? Why, his previous doctor wouldn't say that? However, what does make sense would be to keep the rumors flowing on through the Dem convention. Maybe even leak some "secret" meetings with some speculative names...

Keep the media interest on Republicans during a snoozer of a Dem convention... now that makes sense.

I always wondered about that potato thing. There are tons of people who make that mistake, yet Dan Quayle did made a spelling error and we're still hearing about it 14 years later.

After Edwards was announced as Lurch's running mate, conservatives were tripping over themselves saying VPs don't make a difference. Why all of a sudden is it going to make a difference now?

Almost all pollsters agree that it will end up breaking one way or another, and if that is true then replacing Cheney becomes a non-factor.

I like Cheney and think he has done a fantastic job. I also like the idea of not being beholden to any one candidate in '08.

The newest theory - advanced privately by prominent Democrats, including members of Congress - holds that Mr. Cheney recently dismissed his personal doctor so that he could see a new one, who will conveniently tell him in August that his heart problems make him unfit to run with Mr. Bush.

I don't care what was in the memo. How did the RATS get their filthy paws on it?

There needs to be an investigation...
