Uh oh - now you've reminded me of the last dog we had.
When we left the military in 1969 and were going back to Florida, we could not take him with us, but found a good home with a woman who had a retarded adult son, whose companion Striker became.
Unfortunately, his new home was right off the highway we had to take when we left there, and he was sitting by their mailbox watching the road, looking sad.
Hard on the children in particular.
Tough moments of life.
Yeah - think of all the pets who wait for us there with Weinie!
