Backup electrical systems failed to kick in
A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained six days later.
Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

MADRID, Spain - Europe's biggest terrorist threat is Morocco seething with as many as 1,000 al-Qaida adherents capable of suicide attacks and skilled at slipping through the continent's southern gateway, Spain's leading anti-terrorism judge testified Thursday...
The impoverished kingdom just a short ferry ride across the Strait of Gibraltar has about 100 al-Qaida-linked cells...
They use every means and mechanism, and their activity can even be initially perceived as ordinary delinquency," Garzon said of the cells.
"In my opinion it is the gravest problem Europe faces today with this kind of terrorism."...
Islamic cells have been present in Spain since the early 1990s, and Muslims in North Africa maintain a historic claim to the Spanish territory that the Moors ruled for 800 years and called al-Andalus, Garzon said...
Yup, it's pretty stinky. Just wanted to see what sludge the "bad guys" were spewing.
For maximum effectiveness (i.e. how to affect an entire plane simultaneously instead of just the passengers who "use the facilities") it would lead me to believe that the 2 main points of vulnerability would be the air conditioning system and the food.
Hope someone's "listening" and that these areas are receiving *extra special* attention.

Quix,
I have been off and on into the Iran leg of the threat.
It is so evil that it scares even me.
Excellent! Thanks for the update.
Thank you Velveeta.
Point of conjecture. Would the presence of 130,000
plus US troops in the Persian Gulf theater prevent a US
nuclear retaliation in the region. Are the Jihadists
using the American presence as a hedge against American
revenge? Can the US complete a nuclear strike in the
region without harming our own forces?
If it comes to that our troops will drop and run. No need to remove weapons systems that are going to be melted into puddles within hours of the evacuation.
Remember all the Hueys pushed over the sides?
I had it verified by another party.
It is just what it said it is.
Don't look at that if you dont' have to.
I passed it on.
Thank you.
Thanks for the link, it's the real deal... :<
It's all intertwined with video from Apache helicopter attacks (presumably against muslims) and has a singer in the background, almost like a music video.
Sick, sick, sick.
Sure, we trained for the eventuality when I was on active duty and that was a long time ago. I'd imagine that as our nuclear capabilites grew over the years and the training advanced, it got even easier. We'd send all commands a FLASH warning via secure commo to get them ready and then, shoot! I'd imagine we'd tailor the blast force and factor in the downwind drift to minimize casualties to our forces to neglible levels. Might even use a neutron weapon, if we're really angry. Virtually zilch fallout.
There's a big fire just over the hill of the San Fernando Valley. Looks like it is near the 405 N in the pass. It happened so fast. I just went outside and saw this huge plume of fast moving smoke. Then five minutes ago there was a huge rumble, like thunder. There are no clouds in the sky. I am at least five miles away and it is on the other side of good sized mountain and I'm telling you that rumble was loud. Scared me. I'll keep you posted. If anyone sees anything on the news please post it.
No expert.
I think it depends on the type, the yield, the location and the weather/wind.
And, there are SOME contingencies when even most of us would agree that said troops would be sadly, expendable.
