A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained – six days later.

Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

Intelligence: Terror Attack to Hit Rome, Bomb in Italy


Politics: 9 April 2004, Friday.

Rome will be hit by a bomb attack, according to information of the Italian military intelligence, obtained by the Middle East.

The explosive device has already been transported to Italy.

Security measures in the Italian capital were tightened following the warnings of terror attacks.

Flights of small planes over Rome has been banned.

The Vatican is considered to face the most serious danger.

At the beginning of April the Italian police found a videotape in which Al-Qaeda warns of an upcoming attack against Rome.

The videotape was found at the home of a purported member of the Islamist terror organization in the Italian northern town of Cremona, Italian media reported on Friday.

"Those, who will destroy Rome, is already making ready his swords. Rome will be conquered not with words but with force and weapons," a man believed to be Jordanian Abu Katda al Falastini, Al-Qaeda member, says in the tape.

The media is ratings driven. A horrific attack means people will be glued to TV sets and radios 24 X 7 to hear their redundant droning of stale information AND commercial revenue spots. I think the media is salivating at the prospect of an attack. Perhaps even encouraging one.

My only consolation (and it's a very small consolation at best) is that all these people and their families are going to be in the same boat as the rest of us, if we suffer major bio/chem or nuke attacks.

Everyone from the media to those in govt who have irresponsibly stymied efforts to protect us, if they survive the attacks, are going to wish they were all among the dead, because as Paul Williams said yesterday on that radio program:

"It will be the end of civilization as we know it."

ATTACK IMMINENT. TARGET ITALY?

This is not a drill.

It has the look and feel of "real" to me. Here's my take (speculation only).

If it starts with Italy, then the target sequence we have heard means the next up is London. Then the U.S.

A TM poster yesterday connected the dots in a way I had not thought of before: "Cave of Darkness" could easily mean a night with no moon. Saturday, July 17, has no moon.

Given the moon god worshipers' fixation on the moon, that would make sense. Operationally it could make sense too. Lots of things are easier under cover of darkness.

Not just things on the ground. Airplanes, balloons, or ultra-lights, flying without lights, would be very hard to spot on a moonless night (anthrax dispersal?...).

I have always expected any bio attack to PRECEDE the spectacular attack we are being warned about. That is because our ability to recognize we had suffered a serious bio attack would be hindered if we had just been hit with a spectacular attack elsewhere, and our response would be further slowed by the spectacular attack itself. A nuclear attack, even if with "weak" suitcase nukes, would certainly qualify as a sufficient distraction.

If smallpox were spread at the same time...

I don't know if they can do all this, but the warnings we have been getting certainly indicate our leaders think they might. We have a lot of good people trying to head off whatever these evil people have planned. Good hunting.
