HOMELAND INSECURITY

Backup electrical systems failed to kick in

A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained – six days later.

Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

Chemical antidotes

Antidotes to what, I wonder? That soup they had cooked up for Jordan? Black winds of Death? (that horrific AQ post where they said to breathe deeply- it would be over faster that way)

Akron power outage too? Tampa?

Power outage cancels evening classes at UA

Beacon Journal staff report

Tonight's classes at the University of Akron's main campus have been cancelled because of a power outage in parts of Akron's downtown and nearby areas.

Power was restored to at least some of the affected areas around the campus about 5 p.m. However, the announcement to halt classes already had been distributed to area media, so the university decided to continue with the cancellation, a school spokesman said.

>>>Abu Nidal = Father of Struggle

So Abu Nidal is the new and improve Black September Gang.

Look at this, click to read the whole article...interesting but very long for posting:

Arafat's New PM Behind Munich Olympics Attack?

The terrorist group, operating under the name "Black September," sent a squad of armed Palestinians to attack dormitories housing the Israeli Olympic team. The gunmen murdered a coach and a member of the weightlifting team, then took nine other Israelis hostage. The Palestinians demanded they be transported to the Munich airport where a rescue attempt by German police failed, and all nine hostages were murdered.

Reportedly rental car sets of TMI explosive detector:

Local - TheWGALChannel.com

Rental Car Sets Off TMI Explosive Detector

Tue Jul 13, 1:22 PM ET

A rare security incident happened at the gates of Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant Tuesday morning.

Just after 9 a.m., an employee driving a rented car entered the north gates, caused the explosive detector to sound.

TMI security searched the car, then the state police were called in, and they searched the car as well.

Finally, Harrisburg bomb disposal authorities swept the car a third time.

At 10 a.m., the car was declared safe and clear, but as a precautionary measure, the rental car company responsible for the car came and took it away.

"It does happen, but it's very rare," said Ralph DeSantis, with TMI. "Sometime we get some false positives. For example, fertilizer farmers use in their field, if that gets on a vehicle, we would be able to detect that. That's how sensitive our equipment is."

There is no indication as to why the explosive detector sounded.

Every car that enters TMI, including employee's, is searched.

I think it's just a coincidence...

Abu = Father / Nidal = Struggle (Father of Struggle/Father of the Struggle)

bin = Son / Laden appears to be a just a personal name (son of Laden).

The closest word I know to 'Laaden' is 'Ladn/Lidaan' which translates to (soft, supple, pliable, etc.).

I think it's just a coincidence too, but it's still a sort of interesting one.

Alphabet Soup needs to be paying attention to this.

Today's event reminds me of the anarchist threats to the RNC. Deliberate "False Alarm" stuff.

Too many power outages today. We were lucky. The local power company actually called our office this morning to warn us that we would have a short power outage at a time certain later today, and we did. I wonder what the norm is for power outages across the country for any given day in the middle of July. Were there more today than usual or are we just paying attention?
