Prime Minister Paul Martin’s former employers at Montreal-based Power Corp. brokered the release of Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 for Canadian viewing days before the June 28 federal election.

Forensic economist David Hawkins alleges that "Privy councilors and Carlyle group advisers, Paul Desmarais and Frank McKenna appear to have arranged the release of Fahrenheit 9/11 by Lion’s Gate during the last days of the election as a propaganda weapon to frighten Canadians away from the pro-American position of the new Canadian Conservative Party," in an email sent to prominent Canadian federal election analysts.

Seems that some Canadians are a bit ticked about Moore and his cohorts at Lion's Gate monkeying with the Canadian election last month.

Driving home this evening, I passed a car that had a hand-made sign in the back window which read, "Michael Moore is a big fat bitch." I'm not making this up.

Was Mrs. Moore smiling behind the wheel with that sign on her window as you passed her car up?

as a propaganda weapon to frighten Canadians away from the pro-American position of the new Canadian Conservative Party

And it will work, too.

Ralph Nader got involved in the scare-fest too. It seemed to work --- the polls were tied the weekend before the election. But come election day, the Conservatives lost by a larger margin than expected (but gained seats and the Liberals lost seats and now have a minority government).

"Privy councilors and Carlyle group advisers, Paul Desmarais and Frank McKenna appear to have arranged the release of Fahrenheit 9/11..."

Read that again, folks..."CARLYLE"

This is the same Carlyle group that Moore tries to tie around Bush's neck in his insipid excuse for a movie. Now we see who REALLY has ties to Carlyle. Moore himself, the slimy fat bastard.

Honestly, if I ran into Michael Moore in a dark alley, I'd knock him on his fat arse.

There were some projecting a Conservative majority and that scared the crap out of the Liberal kleptocrats. I didn't think it was likely but it was a nice fantasy. I don't expect the government to stand long; there should be new elections in a few months (maybe even before ours, although I'm not sure of lead time - maybe Bush on a tear will trigger new elections). It'll be interesting to watch.

"Carlyle group advisers"

Hmmmmm...but, but, but...isn't that the same company that Micky Moore says Mr Bush was hooked up with too? Oooooo, it can't be! Moore might have lied? Yuk, yuk..

Isn't it fun, day after day, watching Moore's film being ripped apart and then watching Dems scatter as far away from the mess as they can? Typical of Rats.

Don't listen to the crap that Michael Moore says. I am Canadian and I know more than him. People lock their doors everyday. On the news everyday I hear that in Toronto there have been stabbing deaths, shootings practically every day.People there are scared to death there.

Just a few days ago a little 5 year old Regina girl was kidnapped from her HOME just like what had happened to a Toronto girl almost a year ago. As for his movie, I am very doubtful that he made an impact. I think it was because of the negative attack ads against Harper and negative coverage from the media of him for the last two weeks of the campaign + wimpy socialist NDPers who strategically voted liberal to prevent Harper from winning.
