Contrarian Chronicles Stagflation, anyone? The slowdown has begun
All those bits of bad or mediocre economic and corporate news are not a coincidence. This isn't just a hitch in a recovery.

I heard this yesterday on CNN as well. They've decided that if they say it, it will be considered fact. We are up against a hotbed of no-integrity.
Do you believe this country's economy is going down?
fleck has been a ne'er do well doom and gloomer throughout the recovery.
Even cramer eased him off of his web site, Realmoney
I could not believe it.They are so desperate. So this guy along with CNN has decide to come out after the lowest jobless claims in 4 years and say there a no economic growth. They are a sham!
BTW, sorry I incorrectly spelled unbelievable in the title.LOL
I never use spell check!
what are you tlaking about?
I am not celebrating anything doofus
Fleck is a perma-bear. He is NEVER optimistic.
They'll latch on to any numbers which they perceive as negatives for the President. I wonder what they'll say, if next month, the numbers look good again.
Sales tax revenue up again
13 percent hike marks seven consecutive months of increases
Nope. The economy is not growing. May just post the article in a few.
MSNBC--are they still on the air?
Actually Fleckenstein has been a perma bear going back at least to 96 or 97, when I first saw him. Guys like him and Gary Schilling buy this deflation, overcapacity argument year after year. Perhaps some century it will occur.
My company's cash flow is much better today than it was one year ago, and assuredly better than in the immediate aftermath of 9/11.
I have a slightly different "take" on this kind of false reporting. Every small businessman in the country understands its not true. You can have political beliefs to the left, right or center....but business is business.
There is simply no way claiming the economy isn't growing will be viewed seriously by anyone with an IQ over 50.
State deficits have all but been wiped out, after last year's dire predictions. Arizona now plans to keep our excess taxes for a rainy day fund.
Yeah, a broken clock is right twice a day.
He is entaining to read -off and on.
He is totally clueless as the productivity inceases, wealth increases and real wage increases.
How come they never give back the excess taxes they collect?
THIS JUST IN:
WASHINGTON DC - The new manufacturing numbers out today point to more economic record-setting news. The Manufacturers Alliance reported that its Business Outlook index rose to 80 its highest point since 1972. An index above 50 indicates expansion anything below 50 indicates shrinkage.
Yeah, but have you considered how many horse buggy manufacturers have gone out of business in the last 100 years?
Doom doom and more gloom.
Seriously, I expect to hear that President Bush was indicted and convicted on 12 felony charges last year, including 3 counts of Armed Robbery during a rash of 7-11 stickups.
And you know what? The CNN/MSNBC crowd will report this with a straight face.
True, but they aren't selling this scam to you guys, they are selling it to the bus-taking brown-bagging Joe Schmo worrying about his punch-press job.
