NEW YORK - In an unprecedented move the San Francisco 49ers have saturated their players in two and a half hour "diversity sessions", designed primarily to incorporate tolerance in the NFL locker room.
49er players sat through the sessions that were presented by a tandem duo who discussed sexual orientation diversity (among other things).
In recent years the organization had undergone two "embarrassing" incidents involving the topic of homosexuality. A former player Garrison Hearst had publicly stated that no gay player would be "accepted" in an NFL locker room. The other incident involved repeated, reported, harrassment from players on the team towards the team's long time trainer who himself was openly homosexual. Players reportedly had teased the trainer on various occassions.
Last week in Manhattan, Essera Tualo, a former NFL lineman gave a talk to 200 employees in the NFL offices. Tualo, since his retirement from the game had "come out" to reveal his homosexual practices. Tualo was attempting to convince league officials that they should promote a message of tolerance so that a player could feel comfortable discussing his homosexual desires and still co-exist in the locker room.
There has been some consideration to taking the diversity style training incorporated by the 49ers and instituting it league-wide.

Between the locker room and the showers, you'd think the only deep, dark secrets these guys could have would be body-cavity caches.
Only in FairyTown could a linebacker marry a tight end and play for the same team. Mike Ditka was right when he said NFL means "not for long" if you keep playing like this.
Play the game and keep sex out of the locker room. There are enough queer eyes watching.
Just as there should be "no crying in baseball", there should be no "diversity sessions" in football.
The homosexual lobby has started the NFL down the slippery slope...and they're greasing it with Vaseline.
Group hugs should help.
Trainer: "Now let's all strip down to our jock straps and practice playing center..."
With all of this going on , it's going to be hard to fill the "tight end" postion.
Where will I work will require all employrees to attend "Diversity" training. The process has begun with the managers. I think just from this site and year of experience I can cause a lot of trouble but I was wondering if there are any websites on how to cause trouble at this training session.
They also hired an 'announcerette' a few years ago to appease the NOW types. Somehow a chick (she is young) is not the same as hearing a great voice like Tom Ramsey.
The Giants also have a charity group called: 'Till there is a cure' (aids).
Don't get me started on the Giants......................TOO LATE!!! I am getting ticked as think about that organization.
Juan Marichal.............. A FELON!!

The Ayn Rand Institute had a wonderful program a number of years ago where younger students could satisfy their school's "community service" requirements (remember when those were "hip?") by working to oppose community service requirements in schools. Since your question is somewhat related, find ARI on the web (I'd post a link but I'm at the library, and for some reason I cannot) and search its website under "diversity." You may find some good info.
I thought about the NFL's policy of interviewing blacks as coaches when Jamal Lewis came out a courtroom with a white lawyer as his attorney. Seems hiring the most qualified candidate as his representative, trumped the race issue. (Not saying Jamal Lewis is wrong, just was struck me as ironic).

"Does that mean that the players have to pick up dropped soap in the shower for fear that somebody will be offended?"
Soap-on-a-ropes will be issued to all players to avoid such incidents.
Are they all going to join hands and sing "Kumbaya" in the locker room before kickoff now, too?
That is sooo sad.
As a lifelong Niner fan - I have to agree. . . Diversity Training?!?
Jesse J. is now in the process of screwing up NASCAR.
