It's Gephardt

Just got some scuttlebutt, top Gephardt aide Joyce Aboussie has been sent a private plane to join Dick Gephardt for....one can only assume the announcement that Dick Gephardt will be the next Vice President Nominee for the Democratic Party.

UPDATE: If Aboussie is being flown out and ordering staff to be ready for a change, it's hard to imagine that it is anything, but gearing up for an announcement that he is the VP nominee. He and Aboussie are incredibly close and she is his right hand. Unless this is a bit of disinformation, this is the real deal.

Is Kerry just drumming up cheap sensationalism before he makes his pick?

This whole thing has been nothing but cheap sensationalism. I do not ever remember such nonsense about the VP pick. He's made this whole big thing about being secret, when no one ever really pays attention to it. It has always been right out in the open, and no one ever hears about it until the pick is made.

That said, I can't wait to hear more of Dickie's imaginary friends stories.

Oh, RussieWussie is a candidate for Eyebrows' seat. Has a good chunk of the 'Rat conspirators behind him, but it's difficult to imagine him winning in Nov. The Carnycrats are from Rolla, and I rather doubt -- given prior animus between the Carnycrats and the former multi-term SDS slipshod Marxist mayor of STL (that's Vincent Schlemiel, (wups, Schoemehl, my bad) for all you non-Missouri FReepers, btw) -- that Russie is anything but detested in STL City, which sadly forms roughly 35% of the 3rd District. Naturally, not being a Marxist slimeball, I can't claim to have a thoroughly informed opinion as to the variegated 'Rat infighting.

Aw, that's too easy. Moe, Larry, and Curley. Pavarotti, Domingo, and Carreras. Carter, Carter, and Carter (Jimmuh, his bwitch, and Amy). Clinton, Clinton, and Clinton (no explanation req'd). Groucho, Harpo, and Chico. Tinker, Evers, and Chance. Whichever 3 morons attempted to portray the ''Three Amigos''.

Yo momma, yo daddy, and yo great-grandma... (wait, I retract that one -- these 3 are statistically MORE likely to be qualified, assuming only that they're still alive).

When Kerry gets to the podium to speak at the DNC Convention, he won't be speaking about regime change in Washington, he'll be giving his concession speech earlier than usual. This, my friends I predict here and now, is the big surprise that Kerry has been waiting patiently to spring on all of us, then we can go back to gagging as the Kennedy's regale in the Kennedy Curse.

Russ Carnahan is going to win the congressional seat. His gay sister Robin (who has now let her hair grow out and is being publically escorted by a male) will very likely be the new Secretary of State. Her name recognition (Carnahan) is higher than Catherine Hannaway's. No one knows she's gay and no one is going to ask. As Sec of State, she will be able to control the vote in St. Louis city, which might make it hard for Talent to win re-election. (On Election Night, 2002, her mother refused to concede to Talent until after 1 AM because the St. Louis vote hadn't been counted yet. They knew the count--but they were just waiting for their "fix" to show up and because of Blunt's vigilance as the current Secretary of State and the presence of federal election monitors, they couldn't do in 2002 what they did in 2000). Another member of the Gephardt machine, Holden, will be the Dems gov nominee, but will probably lose to Blunt, unless, as the DC Dems probably hope, a Gephardt on the ticket will "lift" the other Dems further down.

In spite of their attempts to pull off unspeakable voter fraud in 2000, Bush still carried the state, and probably would have carried it by more had there been no voter fraud. I do not believe that there will be voter fraud this year, but lawsuits about registration are already beginning so there is fear that the Dems are trying to make Missouri into the next Florida. (For example, the city of St. Louis is losing population at the fourth greatest rate of any American city but there are now more voters on the books than there are residents in the city--and how before November can those records be reviewed and corrected?)

If you think that was good. I'm glad Edwards got the nomination now. Think about it: Another John-John going down in flames.

No, I'm not sorry for saying it!

Why doesn't anyone from the media just ask him? "Bill, who did you pick for Kerry's Second?"

LOL!

Personally, I was kinda looking forward to the Sominex Ticket......Kery and Geppy.

Instead we're getting the Bi-Polar ticket.....Depressed and Manic:-)

Being first with the news does have some drawbacks - especially when the news turns out to be other than you reported. Moving on.

Good take, and I can easily see things occurring in the fashion you describe, but, as previously noted, there are still a heck of a lot of ''ifs'' in play running up to the primary.

As regards the bizarre voter registration in the city, I can comment, rather authoritatively. In 2001, after the well-known fiasco in the 2000 election, the then-head of the Election Board, Joe Neill (who happens to be my personal attorney and a decades-long friend), asked me over a long, liquid lunch if there was anything to be done about the bogus registrations. I told him, sure, just match the STL voter rolls up against the Missouri DOR drivers' license database (working on the provable fact that people DO update their driving registration far more often than their voter registration).

He dismissed this, saying there wasn't any budget for it. I asked him what he thought it would cost, including all the mailed notifications of challenge that are required by the Voting Rights Act. He guessed about $300K, at which I laughed. Told him I could give him a prototype matching program within 72 hours, and a complete one within a couple of weeks, for $10-15K, plus whatever mailing costs. He said ''Bull''. I said, just get me a sample list of 5000 names/addresses pulled off the master registration roll, comma-delimited ASCII, nothing exotic. He did.

Exactly two days later (I rather fancy a challenge), I laid on his desk a fairly detailed printout of the sample results: roughly 68% of registrations had no discernible flaw, 6% had at least some questions to be asked, and 26% were either obviously or highly probably fraudulent.

Making a long story short, when he told the Board about this, the screaming could have been heard in St. Charles. After a flurry of what I can only describe as Sharptonesque accusations back and forth, the Board, entirely predictably, decided not only to take no action, but to ''censure'' Joe into the bargain (meaningless, of course, but you know the drill). And, take my word on it, neither the Post-Disgrace nor the assorted lamestream media would even look at the data.

Blunt's efforts notwithstanding, in the County of the City of St. Louis, there'll be fraud up the ol' wazoo in November.

Your St. Louis relative told you the plain truth. Eyebrows hasn't lived in his district for at least a decade, probably longer.

One can only hope that the electorate are not sufficiently demented to elect the Marxist Hanoi John al-Querry, in which case we won't have to envision a Cabinet featuring Eyebrows and the plagiarist.

I am kind of glad Kerry didn`t pick Gephardt. I really wasn`t looking forward to having to look at his mug while he was campaigning in this state. He would have been hitting St.Louis city on a daily basis I would imagine.

Probably still will but the media won`t be stuck to his butt.

You think Edwards will debate Cheney? I will not be surprised if no VP debates take place.

I'm actually quite relieved Gephart didn't get the VP nod..

MO is considered a "swing" state, and the battle will be hard fought here..
Gephart as VP candidate would have been enough to swing MO into the Democrat camp.. whether through state loyalty, or through Dem machinations and voter fraud..

As it stands, MO remains a swing state, and is still within the hopes of a conservative vote..
