It's Gephardt

Just got some scuttlebutt, top Gephardt aide Joyce Aboussie has been sent a private plane to join Dick Gephardt for....one can only assume the announcement that Dick Gephardt will be the next Vice President Nominee for the Democratic Party.

UPDATE: If Aboussie is being flown out and ordering staff to be ready for a change, it's hard to imagine that it is anything, but gearing up for an announcement that he is the VP nominee. He and Aboussie are incredibly close and she is his right hand. Unless this is a bit of disinformation, this is the real deal.

Just how smooth and articule is your governor? Does he seem to have any depth? Try to be nonpartisan in your response, however tough that may be. :)

Was just listening to local news in FL on Radio 610.

Newscaster said the list of VP potentials include Mattie the Maid Albright. That's the first I heard that she was a contender; although Kerry did meet with her last week. But that was speculation of her connection to Wesley Clark.

Thank God...nobody's gonna want to ask him if it's Boxers or Briefs! I have to say I'm a little scared of Edwards on the ticket.

but I see a lot of stickers around.

My favorite bumper had a Dean sticker on one side and a DU, Democratic Underground sticker on the other side.

I believe that the silent majority will speak in Nov. and Missouri will be in GWB's column, Gephardt or no Gephardt.

Now that I think about it, Albright wouldn't probably be in contention. IIRC, she is a Naturalized citizen, so would be ineligible to serve as President.

OK... so he's no longer a rat candidate. He's probably still voting.

Mad Mattie can't, IIRC. She wasn't born in America.

Edwards frightens me. But I do think Cheney would wipe the floor with him in the vice-presidential debate.

Hey, do a "kerry gephardt" search on Google. And look at the images section. There is one on the 2nd row that says: est_popup_banner.jpg blog.johnkerry.com/ cgi-bin/mt-comments.cgi?en..

Do you recognize anyone on there?

What about Gov. Bob Holden?

"One term Bob"? He is going to be retired come Nov.

Ames has a fairly reasonable university in the town but their math department has vastly improved in the last year thanks to the importation of a superb combinatorialist.

Gettysburg is nice. Once. But it's pretty much nothing but a battlefield, emphasis on "field".

If you go to Lancaster and are travelling with a boy between the ages of 3 and 12, you must visit The Strasburg Railroad. Trust me.

You're right. How much press is FlipFlop'n Kerry getting on his own? He needs the Veep hype. Sad, though, that he needs Gephardt to bring excitement to his campaign.

Kerry/Gephardt gives the ticket a French/German flavor.

The Gaul of them.

When the dead beat you once, you never forget. As far as I know the only times that it's been suggested that it made a difference and the allegations were reasonable were the 1960 Chicago incident and one of LBJ's Senate runs. ("Landslide Lyndon")

By the way, I did a spell check, and the alternative word for "Mulholland" was "malevolent."

I wonder what an alternative word for Michael Moore would be?

I must say that I don't watch a lot of local TV. I get news via the internet and radio. I'd say he's smooth enough without being Clintonian. He's got that non-abrasive whitebread midwestern style. He doesn't make much of an impression, actually. He's just sort of there. Not at all in the Harkin mode.
