It's Gephardt
Just got some scuttlebutt, top Gephardt aide Joyce Aboussie has been sent a private plane to join Dick Gephardt for....one can only assume the announcement that Dick Gephardt will be the next Vice President Nominee for the Democratic Party.
UPDATE: If Aboussie is being flown out and ordering staff to be ready for a change, it's hard to imagine that it is anything, but gearing up for an announcement that he is the VP nominee. He and Aboussie are incredibly close and she is his right hand. Unless this is a bit of disinformation, this is the real deal.

That was Gore.
"Our DIck's better than yours!"
You are so naughty. LOL.
Skerry-Gopher
Digging their way to an electoral footnote.
Yup. I remember, "I Like Ike".
That won't work here, hee hee.
The Kerry Campaign is being WAAAAAAAaaY too successful in dominating the media with who he's going to choose as his Veep. I expect this exercise in futility will continue for some time.
Remember that when the media is covering this "minor" item, they're ignoring all of Kerry's flip/flopping out on the campaign trail.
His campaign staff must be elated:-(
Of the three constantly mentioned as running mates...Gephardt bests fits this bill.
It is Hillary's if she wants it (though, who knows if she wants it) -
Outside of her, I think it will be the Gov of VA or perhaps the old Gov of FLA (that beat Jeb) - name is slipping my mind -
That governor, Lawton Chiles, who beat Jeb, is dead. Thus he is unlikely to be selected.
Ex FL Gov. Lawton Chiles died in 1998.
Whomever is chosen, rest assured he's going to be one vicious SOB.
Sam Nunn...
credible on Defense, popular in the South and neutralizes Zell Miller impact.
Watch the slight of hand now taking place.
Bob Graham? Now Senator Graham?
Yes, but he will probably vote for Kerry.
John & Dick! I am so excited at the boringness of this pair. Is "boringness" a word? I don't care, it works for me. Edwards would have brought a little excitement, even if it was excitement of the unknown.
Agree. Between this announcement and the dimm convention, I may need to tune out for the rest of July ;-)
This whole weekend has been slow for news (thank God) but that has left the cable news channels nothing else to do but speculate who will be the Veep pick. I personally don't think it will be Edwards because Kerry is too small of a man to pick a more charasmatic candidate. I think Gephardt is a good logial choice for many reasons, of which firstmost that he won't outshine the dull headliner on the ticket.
Be realistic, that's no barrier. Think Carnahan.
If I were a democRAT (thank GOD I am not) I'd wear a tee shirt "you can't lick our Dick!."
