Worked the Edina [MN] 4th of July Parade for Bush today and one Edina volunteer brought her beautiful golden retriever festooned with Bush placards. No sooner did the parade start than the dog was firmly kicked by a Kerry supporter. I kid you not a woman kicked our George Bush mascot dog. When asked “Did you just kick my dog?” the woman relied “Yes, I did! Get the hell out of here and get George Bush the hell out of here too!” Nice. Probably a member of PETA ironically enough.
On the one hand, it's just pathetic; kicking a dog.

Truthfully, it wasn't far from my mind and had she gone on about it or used slightly more directly threatening language I would have (it's not hard to find a cop quickly at 8th ave and 46th St W). Also, had she and her fella looked the least bit unbalanced (as opposed to simply stupid and emotional) that would have changed things quickly. Really though, she was nothing but a stupid lib that probably thinks Hillary really is the smartest woman in the world, Michael Moore's films are 100% true, and on and on. But I'm not kidding, had she kept on about it and not shut up it was my next move.
You assume correctly. Even her friend seemed taken aback by her statement and it was clear from her reaction to me that she simply barked it out from a DU-like reflex. They subsequently barely said a word to each other from then until they left, which they did fairly quickly and very quietly.
If someone, male or female, kicked my sweet Golden, I'd go for their throat and throttle the SOB.

That is *exactly* correct. This explains why they hate guns so much as well. They know deep down, that *they'd* lose it and shoot someone over a parking space. They assume that we would as well.

Anyone who kicks an innocent dog is lower than whale poop. I'll echo a number of folks here that have said they wished the lefty had kicked their dog.
My 70 pound Belgian Malinois doesn't take well to people that try to kick him or anyone in his family. He doesn't react like a Golden, that's for sure.
She should have been arrested, prosecuted and sentenced to community service to be served out in the local animal shelter. (Preferably "in house") Make her live with the dogs, as a dog.
under Pennsylvania law, it is a first-degree misdemeanor. That was the first state I found in a google search.
