Good Lord....the nutjobs are out on this one.
Folks on FR declaring they won't vote for Bush because he is a born again christian conservative.
What a joke.
My comment was one of sarcasm, not accuracy.
Point being, this nation was founded by gun-
toing religious fanatics, most or all of whom
were Christian, but Christianity includes the
Old Testament, which is Jewish.
"I've seen good folks banned from here for less than that."
Then maybe you should send JimRob a note and tell him to get to doing his job.

They never intened to vote for GWB.
They're infil"traitors."
What are you implaying, orionblamblam?
Ignatius, I feel, speaks for many conservatives in this country. In fact I was so impressed by his ability to put into words the exact thing I feel, that I copied his post to use as debate ammo for whenever I get into arguments from petty people who want to treak Christians like they are crud, only to be removed from public life at the least mention of their faith.
We should be proud that America is a Christian dominated nation. The very principals of Christian-hood is what keeps us the most generous, kind hearted and yes, ACCEPTING, nation on earth.
The weirdos are howling at the moon. :-)
"I suppose you'd prefer an atheist or maybe wahhabist over a born again christian"
Well a wahhabist is stretching it a bit, that's just pretty much an even trade. But yeah, I just about prefer to vote for anything besides a frothing, foaming at the mouth, born again. Like maybe someone who sees their job as handling the business of government and letting people take care of their own religious beliefs.
Naw, cant do that, they might not make the right choic.
I don't snitch and I'm not on the popularity team here either.
But...I think you are very wrong and wonder what your ideology is actually.
I answer by saying that Judiasm gave birth to Christianity. Christianity welcomes all. I don't see any conflict.
Kerbie is a self-described "lone realist" here.
LOL!
Like new age crazy.
"But...I think you are very wrong and wonder what your ideology is actually."
My ideology is that people who we hire to run the government should do just that. Run the government, not get into people's personal religious beliefs.
Unfortunately we now have an administration that thinks just the opposite. Think Faith Based Initiative.
There are devout Jewish Conservatives on this very forum....veteran FReepers who have publicly stated that indeed this is a nation identified as Christian, founded mainly by Christians and a few loose adherents and that we are ALL the better for it and that fact does not exclude anyone.
I don't wish to ping them to come prove my argument and toss them on front street but anyone who posts here much knows who they are and they are as good as they come here...above reproach....and not coincidentally they are all strongly on board the WOT and to stop cultural decay...in other words they sound a helluva lot like Christian Conservatives....thank G-d.
LOL!
Watch my back will ya?
I am saying "good nite."
"Kerbie is a self-described "lone realist" here"
Hey, somebody's got to do it.
Well, it is a holiday for most tommorow.
Boy howdy...you take moral equivocation to a new level.
And there was a full moon last Thursday.
One thing I forgot to say.
As someone who loves Israel, Jews and everything Hebrew, I too am sometimes irked that there seems to be a large segment of Jews who seems to despise the fact that any public politician "dares" to ever mention the word Christ in their daily conversation.
I have a good Jewish friend at work, in fact several, who are offended that President Bush openly professes to being a Christian.
For the life of me, I cannot understand their bitterness. I ask them to point out one thing that GWB or this country at large has done to the Jewish faith in our lifetime and they stand there with a blank look on their face.
I keep my sanity by just realizing that such dichotomy among the Jews is what makes them such a great, fascinating religion.
Hey, somebody's got to do it.
Right.
You'll come around to vote for Bush.
Masturbatory 3rd party votes don't
compute with my view of you.
Kerry is way too dangerous.
Bush must win reelection.
A Kerry appointed SCOTUS cannot happen.
