This subterfuge is silly. It will be Edwards.
I'm with you
Edwards has too much personality, but he has too little experience (1 Senate term) and appeared to be non-re-electable to the Senate from his own state. That isn't too good of a resume.
Gephardt brings most of the labor union vote and more midwestern-ism to counter Kerry's northeast elite-ism.
I don't see Gephardt helping Kerry with the southern vote.
I don't see Hillary. That indicates that (1) either Hillary has no plan to run until possibly 2012 (doubtful; too much lipo and facelifting); or (2) the Clintons consider the Kerry campaign a dead horse, giving Hillary a clear shot for 2008.
Bingo. We have a winner.
Kerry has certainly shown himself to be vacillating and indecisive in this process. Edwards vs. Gephardt vs. Vilsack is a pretty "ho hum" decision. (My guess is that Hillary doesn't really want the job and would rather run in 2008.) Also, Kerry's interest in McCain as VP should never have become public knowledge.
My instincts tell me it won't be Edwards because Edwards has no military record. Gephardt served in the National Guard for like 6 years. Kerry is going for (I think) the Democratic veterans as president message.
No way. Kerry would never pick anyone who would upstage him.
It will not be Edwards. There is some bad stuff in his file that is not publicly known.
Or, Edwards name being often mentioned is subterfuge.
IMO, if Hillary has anything to say about it, it will be Gephardt. Edwards will be Hillary's mate in '08.
It would be Kerry pi**ing away a Veep choice. Like the Rats won't get the union vote anyway. And, most of the union vote is Federal workers; already big Kerry supporters.
If it's Edward's it'll be a death sentence for him. Edwards is even more of a nobody than Kerry.
Kerry is hoping those of you hoping its Edwards will chase after that foul ball to right field. I think it'll be Gephardt.
