Republican talk on Capitol Hill in Washington about presidential prospects for 2008 has turned to Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as a conservative who was moderate enough to win in a liberal Democratic state.>>>

Translation:

Democratic (and RINO) wishful thinking on Capitol Hill in Washington about presidential prospects for 2008 has turned to Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as a conservative who is happy to advocate the continued butchery of small children in utero.

I think I meant "You [drew] that cartoon?"

I do some small-publishing sometimes, you'd be great for a humor book.

Neat-o! Actually, my PAC chairman (I work for Iowa Presidential Watch PAC & do their website, too) wants to do a book of the 'toons. I've been doing them since the Dems started campaigning in Iowa. On our website each cartoon is accompanied with the news story that 'inspired' it. It should be an unusual book, chronicling the 2004 election from start to finish IN 'TOONS and stories.... we'll see if it sells.

I hope so!! It would be good for the conservative cause.

I'm still half expecting Kerry to pull off a mask and reveal Dukakis standing there.

LOL. On stilts.

No, I haven't been cut out of government contracts, and I have lost no interests and/or income to the current financial syndicate (other than losing state assets for which my tax dollars fund). I have been a lifelong Republican and military conservative. I have been trained to observe what happens and not be side tracked by the magician's flamboyant moves. I look at what drops out of the "pichinko machine," not at the bells, whistles and spinning wheels. I used to watch in amazement as the clinton machine fleeced the country, and so many would never open their eyes to see the obvious. I wondered how anyone could be so blind. I still don't understand it, but I seems to be a human trait. Now, the Republicans are all glassy eyed and dazed watching their prince of thieves plunder the government. One liners and acid remarks may white wash the debate, but the money bag has ruptured and money is spilling out for all to see.

Remember, when the proverbial crap finally hits the fan, you heard it first right here.

Yah, no doubt. This sounds like a great idea.

Heck, all they really need to do is mail it to every Republican in SD. If we can keep most of them on board, and away from Tommy's bacon strips, we'll win in a landslide.

What are their reasons? They're concerned about terror maybe?

Yes, just like the light of truth would have destroyed the Nazis if the Nazi Propaganda Machine hadn't distorted and censored the information reaching the people. It's the same today with the American Propaganda Machine.

Clinton, then governor of Arkansas, enjoyed his first big spurt in the polls during the 1992 convention in New York.

I thought Clinton enjoyed his biggest spurt in the White House.

"Neat-o! Actually, my PAC chairman (I work for Iowa Presidential Watch PAC & do their website, too) wants to do a book of the 'toons."

For your info, I am the author of "Men Are Pigs: And Deserve To Die!", writing as Sonya Steinem [a cross between Gloria and Sonya Friedman]. You laugh, but I sold 8,000 books, even a Spanish edition. It was a spoof, in case you don't know. Had a very good illustrator, but bad agent and distributor.

So, I can write up a storm, if you can illustrate. Maybe a spoof of the "Wild Eyed Democratic Platform". Logic bores, parody kills.

Their reasons are terror and Iraq. My SIL grew up in NY. The girlfriend has a nephew in the Army Rangers in Iraq. SIL and I are having a farewell visit with our 18 year old nephew who ships off to boot camp in 2 weeks. (He's going into atrillery). It has become too personal for them to let Kerry run things.

"I'm still half expecting Kerry to pull off a mask and reveal Dukakis standing there."

*historical footnote: Dukakis wasn't even *invited* to the 2004 Democratic Presidential Convention...in his home state!

I just re-read these posts, S. Some of them were downright prophetic. Post #58 may well be prophetic too.

The more the Left rants and gets its message out, the more it fades into irrelevance (e.g. Dukakis).

The sad thing, if you can manage to feel sorry for them, is that the last thing these people want is irrelevance. They would prefer scorn, hatred, vituperation, ridicule--anything--even damnation--to irrelevance.
