The Allegheny County sheriff's department has a new tool in its arsenal to "Mini-mize" crime.
The sheriff's department has unveiled the first-ever Mini Cooper law enforcement patrol car in the country, aptly named the "MINI COPPER."
MINI of Pittsburgh, located in Shadyside, donated the car to the department for six months to a year to promote various city and county events. It will also be used in conjunction with crime prevention activities, such as child identification and protection from strangers programs.

Sheeesh. The only time I ever saw one of those was at the circus, and 2 dozen clowns kept gettin' out of the thing.

Sheeesh. The only time I ever saw one of those was at the circus, and 2 dozen clowns kept gettin' out of the thing. Yesterday at the supermarket I saw this 6+ foot guy get out of his new mini. He walked a few feet away and then gazed back. Walked a few more feet and returned his gaze back to his mini. I didn't know whether he was just proud of his car or whether he was still amazed that he could get in and out of it.

It ain't always the size of the car that determines whether you fit into it. I'm 6-7 and drove a Subaru Justy for awhile. Fit into it better than my Isuzu Rodeo.

Sidenote - Willie, I've been meaning to ask if you're a Steelers fan.
I love good-natured smack talk with Steelers fans during the season. Most knowledgeable fans in the NFL - besides Titans fans, of course.

It was part of the Crafton Celebrates parade Wednesday... I was thinking to myself why the hell would they spend that kind of money on a car like that. Since its donated free, I guess I won't gripe now

But the car will only serve 4 and get out early for good behavior.

I'm 6 foot 200 plus and I love mine. There's a surprising amount of room in it.

Dan Onorato (D), Allegheny County Chief Executive, putting for that the County is in trouble (which it is, by the way) and laying off numerous County employees (probably justifiable as a good first start), and the County is spending for such BS items as this??? Lord, help us.

Any cop driving that, male or female, will be required to wear earrings and pee sitting down.
