A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Thanks, Mixer!
1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

All of them went off at the same time LOL. You never saw such a mess. Nothing but noise and smoke. Sounds like a lot of fun, Nan. LOL!

It was hilarious. There we were circling round and round in the river for an hour waiting for the fireworks and when they finally go off there's nothing to see except smoke. I was "rolling on the river" laughing.

"I was "rolling on the river" laughing." Yep - I seem to remember someone wrote a song 'bout that..:))
"Proud Mary Nancy"
Left a good job in the city
Workin' for the Man every night and day
But I never lost a minute of sleepin'
Worryin' 'bout the way things might have been
[chorus]
Big wheel keep on turnin'
Proud Mary Nancy keep on burnin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river
Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis
Pumped a lot of tane down in New Orleans
But I never saw the good side of a city
'Til I hitched a ride on the riverboat queen
[repeat chorus]
If you come down to the River
Bet you're gonna find some people who live
You don't have to worry 'cause you have no money
People on the river are happy to give
[repeat chorus]
Famous, you are, Sistah..:))

Yeah, it was fun. We had a good dinner on the boat and a leisurely cruise upriver and back. Then we just floated round and round off shore from the park. It was a beautiful evening.

Thank you for posting the link, but it says "page can't be displayed." I hit "refresh" like Nan said, but nothing happened. I know what! I'll try lookin' at it with Netscape; that worked for me a couple of times in the past!
To: LadyX
LOL. There was an old pony-tailed hippy on the boat providing the music with his banjo and fiddle, and he sung that song. Nobody was listening to him.....well, actually we couldn't hear him for the engines. Probably just as well.

Anybody know the answer?
In my # 212 I posted the URL so Kitty Mittens could use the graphic she couldn't view, and she got "page can't be displayed."
http://www.thecatgallery.com/images/cat-kitten-mouse-bounce.gif
That URL in the Reply works fine for me, and Nan can see the graphic I posted way back, too.
Does she perhaps have a setting that allows HTML to be used/viewed that is not enabled??
(She has Windows XP, as I do - I know next to nothing!)

I have no idea what the problem could be. I use XP also and have never encountered this.
I uploaded the graphic to my server. Can you see it now, kitty mittens?
If not, try clicking HERE.

She is so creative with her threads and graphics and comments. Awwww........shucks. Thanks, but creating graphics is easy. It just takes a good graphics program and the patience to learn to use it. Writing the way you do, LadyX, takes real talent. I sure wish I could weave a story the way you do.
But, the wonderful thing about this Finest place is the individual talents each of us bring. Our Finest family is a colorful, interesting and ever changing mosaic. (With "red, white and blue" being predominant, of course.) :-)
We are so happy that you found us, Kitty Mittens!

Okay MB. I guess you missed the newborn pics. BRB Yes, I did. They were probably posted while I was on vacation. I can do a search for them and probably locate them......although, I imagine grandma won't mind posting them again. ;-)

MB, I knew that Kitty was one of us the first day she posted, so I sent her over here to meet the gang. I plan to take full credit for that too.
