"Sites and MSNBC broke the rules."
Is it possible that the American media can single handedly undermine the new Iraqi governments chances for success?
Eleven others are to be indicted along with Hussein.
Outrageous! Not surprisingly, it looks like MSNBC would love to see a terrorist attack on the courthouse.
A letter to the American people...

His description was EXACT.
That letter was delivered to President Bush, at the White House, yesterday.
"That letter was delivered to President Bush, at the White House, yesterday."
I hope the Brits and the others who stood with us get similar letters. They can forget Spain.
No, not OJ.
Think Napoleon.
"Louis XVIII sent General Ney to capture Napoleon: Ney promised to "bring him back in an iron cage". However, when Ney met Napoleon and sent the troops to to arrest him he stepped forward and, opening the familiar grey overcoat, exclaimed: Let him among you who wants to kill his Emperor, fire! The soldiers broke into cheers, surged round him, and rummaged in their knapsacks for the tricolor cockades long hidden there. When Ney came into contact with his old master, memories were too much for him and he went over to him with all his men."
If you think this can't happen, you're crazy.
Only a people who don't study history would have allowed Saddam to survive his capture.
We should have killed him when we had the chance.
prior to the new Iraqi government...no one had ever heard of the new PM...do a search...he's non-existant...yet he didn't just spring up in a vacuum...we the US had to know of him..probably wanted him in the first palce as our first chocie..yet if we endorsed him, it'd have been the kiss of death..still seems to have worked ouyt OK..this is being carefully managed..
a few weeks ago, when the prison photos were are aover the palce, a few conservative columnists ran strong pieces saying tht the US needed to show all the films of Saddam's atrocities to counter the effect. I agreed with them. A few GOP congresscritters held screenings..no one came..remember?..the administration seemed complacent...now, which will be more valuable?..the US releasing these pics and films to the media, who will decline to show them because they are too horrible, or a world wide televised trial..with the pics and films released in a multi-media environment, where they WILL HAVE to be shown...there's a very smart hand guiding this..the trial will be a devastating indictment of Saddam, and by extension, of all who oppose the war...remember the great media briefings from Centcom during the war?..expect the same , 100x more, from this trial..who do you think is guiding the Iraqis?...and Oh yeah..look for the trial to start in Oct..
There's a delayed pool feed of the court appearance including the perp walk. The major networks in Baghdad will get video at the same time, presumably later this morning.
Surprise! ;-)
As I recall, Napoleon did not butcher his own people as Hussein has. I've read the on-the-street interviews since last year. NOBODY loved Saddam but the favored Baath party members and thugs. I think this is going to go more like Romania did when the iron cutain fell.
Thanks for the move to breaking news.
Oh, actually, I think they will try to get the General Assembly to recognize Saddam's government as the legal government of Iraq.
Which the UN would do without question.
In a heartbeat.
Unless Saddam is restored to power first by his own actions.
We should have killed him when we had the chance.
