Michael Niewodowski was a chef at Windows on the World in the World Trade Center until September 11, 2001. He has written a guest column for the Herald-Tribune in Florida about Michael Moore's film "Fahrenheit 9/11". Here's an excerpt:
So, how do we explain Moore's film to future generations? I wonder. More than that, I wonder how I would explain this film to Nancy D., Jerome N. or Heather H. I am sure you don't know their names, but their faces haunt me day and night. How would I explain to them that a film was made accusing the president and vilifying the soldiers, the same president and soldiers who are attempting to avenge their murders and protect other citizens. Moore has not only insulted the nation, he has insulted the victims of the terrorist attacks.
During his acceptance speech at the Oscars, Moore said, "Shame on you, Mr. Bush." Well, I say, "Shame on you, Michael Moore." Shame on everyone who supports this travesty of a film. Shame on a society that allows this sham of a film. You have weakened the nation.
Here's a link to the rest of the column.
Mr. Niewodowski's e-mail link is at the bottom of the article. I suspect he'll be bombarded with nasty, vile DU e-mails, so an e-mail of support might be in order.
I have a question.
When you click on the link and send an E-Mail to the chef who wrote the article, what return address shows?
Would it show my personal E-Mail address or something else? I'm really ignorant about a lot of this stuff!
Thanks!
Mary
I have thought a lot about this movie and why it is here on the American scene at this particular time. I have thought a lot about Michael Moore.
My conculsion is that the American Dream is dead for many, many people. The dream didn't die of natural causes either. It was a willful demise brought about by the likes of the ego of men and women like Mr. Moore. The individual ego has become more important than any love of country or of fellow Americans.
This ego has made the outcome in the here and now more important than the future, because the future is not about the individual solely. People like Mr. Moore, and their mind's eye, are very veiled. They are not ignorant, but purposely destructive, of our culture and morals. They want to be able to boast they they were the one that caused the change.
Mr. Moore knows the consequences of his actions will not benefit anyone in the long run. Indeed he knows he is doing major harm. But it doesn't matter. Somehow the future won't apply to him. He can shield himself from all the ill he creates by hiding under his ego.6
Email of support to Mr. Niewodowski sent!
You have it figured out.
Are you kidding? He's going to be up for an Oscar for the movie. And some time in the future, he will probably be awarded the Oscar's Leni Riefenstahl Lifetime Achievement Award.
Please everyone forward to your personal address books! (After sending a note of thanks to the author, of course!)
I have sent an e-mail of thanks and support to this good American. I'm glad he survived.
I sent him a note as well, congratulating him on a wonderful column.
E-mail sent! What a marvelous read!
It'll show your personal e-mail address.
I did it anyway, because I figure he's one of us. I told him that a thread was posted on Free Republic, but I didn't send the link.
Oh well. I just posted the same article.
A "What a great article" BUMP!
What an awesome put down of Michael Moore by someone who was witness to the destruction.
Thanks!
Thanks! And my email was sent as well.
What a great guy!
