LIVES SAVED

This day, June 30th, was to be the original date for the turnover of sovereignty to Iraq. If the original timeline had been followed there would have been massive attacks on civilian and military targets by terrorists throughout Iraq today. As of this time we haven't seen those attacks. Why not? Because the government took control two days ago. It's old news. Lives were saved by the decision to move up the timetable.

HILDABEAST SHOWS HER TRUE COLORS

Yesterday, New York Senator Hillary Clinton was speaking at a fund-raiser in San Francisco on behalf of Senator Barbara Boxer. At that fund-raiser, she told those in attendance to expect to lose some of the tax cuts passed by President Bush if Democrats win the White House and control of Congress. That's right...she's telling everyone in advance she and the rest of her leftist pals are going to raise their taxes. Hillary really showed herself at this fund raiser --- if, that is, they manage to get the White House and control of the congress. Not only did Shrillary reveal her love of high taxes, but she did so in the arrogant, condescending manner that forms the foundation of her personality. Hillary told us that she is ".. going to take things away from (us) on behalf of the common good."

There are several basic elements of the liberal faith exposed in Hillary's threat. (And yes, it was a threat.) The two most important elements were that all wealth belongs to the government and all that the lives of individuals must be controlled by government. The government demonstrates its ownership of all wealth by determining how it is to be "distributed," and it's ownership of individuals by controlling aspects of our private lives.

The Imperial Federal government, under the control of such worthy people as Hillary, decides what portion of the wealth that we have earned it will "give" us. You've heard liberals refer to tax breaks as "giveaways" to the rich. You and I know that a tax break doesn't "give" anything to the rich. It merely allows the high producers to keep more of what the worked for an earned. But to Hillary and her leftist friends, all that you earn actually belongs to government ... so, to them, it is a giveaway.

Not only do liberals not recognize your right to or ownership of the wealth that you produce, liberals don't even want to recognize your sovereignty as an individual. Just think for a moment of the choices that the government doesn't allow you to make. In virtually every state in the nation you cannot make your own choice as to who will clip your nails. In Texas and Florida the government tells you just who can help you match the color of a sofa fabric to your drapes. In Georgia and virtually every other state you can't decide who you want to clip your nails. In Arizona it's a crime to have someone trim your cuticles. In South Carolina a female can't get a massage from a male. It's so wonderful to live in a free country, isn't it?

And now we have Hillary proudly and arrogantly announcing that the government is going to seize property from individuals for "the common good." Don't ignore the message here. You are not a free individual. You exist to serve the state. Hillary is here to show you the way.

MICHAEL BERG OUT OF CONTROL

Who is Michael Berg? You may remember his son, Nicholas Berg. He was the one that had his head sawed off by Al-Qaeda, and was videotaped and aired around the world on the internet. Islamic terrorists took away the life of Nick Berg, and of course, his father is justifiably upset about it. Nick Berg was a Bush supporter, his father is not, and that's where this all begins.

Michael Berg is now tarnishing the memory of his son by participating in protests abroad against the United States. He is protesting a cause that his son believed deeply in, that is the liberation of Iraq. Speaking at a press conference for the 'Stop the War coalition' (the war is over, Mr. Berg..we won,) he said "This transfer of power is nothing more than another nut and shell game of the Bush and Blair coalition."

This is nothing new for Michael Berg. He was involved in the International ANSWER group that protested the war even before it began in March of 2003. This is a group that was bound and determined to make sure that Saddam Hussein was not removed from power. As I detailed for you several months ago, the participation of several international communist organizations in International ANSWER is something to behold.

What is conveniently missing in his outrage is that against Al-Qaeda, against the Islamic terrorists that chopped off his son's head. Like most liberals in the conspiratorial wing of the Democratic party, those who commit these atrocities are never responsible. It is somehow the Republicans who have blood on their hands. Don't demonize the terrorists. Demonize those who are trying to kill the terrorists.

Instead of respecting the cause his son gave his life fighting for, Michael Berg is using this tragedy for his own political purposes. That's sad, but as I said, for Michael Berg it's nothing new.

MEDIA OUTRAGE OVER ARMY CALL-UP

The U.S. military yesterday mobilized 5,600 retired or discharged soldiers to be sent to Iraq. That sounds so mean and cruel, doesn't it? Why, that conjures up images of retirees sitting on their porches drinking lemonade suddenly being forced into deployment. That's what the media would have you believe, but not so fast...the facts tell us otherwise.

What the Bush-bashers conveniently leave out is that all the military is doing is tapping the Individual Ready Reserve, a pool of 111,000 people that remain eligible for active duty for eight years after completing their Army service commitment. The last time it was used was in the 1991 Persian Gulf War. It is there for exactly this use.

The left is whining about how this is a "back-door draft," but it is nothing of the sort. No one is being forced to do anything. When you sign up for the military, you know the rules. This is how it works. An Army spokeswoman had it right: "It's a management tool we've always had available to augment our forces when we need additional personnel in a time of war." And we are in a war. Of course that's the real reason the appeasers are up in arms, isn't it? They don't believe we are at war at all.

These people are being called up in accordance with the terms of a contract that they entered into voluntarily. They have received and will continue to receive the benefits due them under this contract, and now it's time to render the service they agreed to render. No outrage here, folks. No matter how hard the media tries.

Great commentary from Neal; am really surprised that others have not taken Hillary on; but busy week; so maybe she is coming up on the list. Don't think Fox News picked this up either; thought for sure F&Friends might have something to add; but don't think they went there today; unless I missed it.

It's a shame the Libertarians despise him.

I think that is some in his party. There are many Libertarians that do support his view. Its about a 50 50 split. I have a close friend who is a major player in the Libertarian Party. He was the one who gave me the split.

I watched a bit of the convention on CSPAN. There were a bunch of them protesting him and handing out anti Boortz flyers while he was speaking.

Very odd.

I guess it must be customary to hire people you "despise" to speak at your gatherings. So, are we inviting Hillary of Kerry to address the next local FReep?

Well you could do what the Libertarians did. Invite a Republican and protest him and hand out anti-xxxx flyers while he is speaking.

Neal gives a good insight into Michael Berg, but doesn;t really explore his mindset.

Yes, Berg is a Bush hater, so it is natural that his hatred of Bush is even more with his son's death.

But, what Neal doesn't explore is the fact that a lot of Michael's rage at Bush and America may actually be a displced rage at himself. It is a very good possibility that Michael's hatred of Bush and vehement opposition to the Iraq war is what drove Nicholas to go to Iraq in the first place. So in a way Michael may now consider himself responsible for his son's murder.

Good. She overstepped the other day and is unelectable imo, unless she can arrange for massive (and I mean massive) voter fraud.

Isn't it a crying shame that those idiot islamo-fascists beheaded
the wrong member of the Berg family?!

Always remember:
Membership in C*ANSWER is the sign of a fatally diseased pro-jihadist mind and soul.
