Ed Koch is an old school Democrat who was an American first. Yea, he is somewhat liberal but he knows what is good for the Democrats is not always good for the country.

Exactly! When liberals like Moore look for the excuses to explain (and dismiss) the hatred and vitriol that that we witnessed on 9/11..they don't need to look any further than themselves. The Left, has for decades, embraced and taught a sick form of secular/post-modern psychology that absolutely holds no objective truth.
Everything is based on moral/ethical relevance, using tortured equivalance to excuse any behavior. There no longer is right and wrong, black or white...or something as simple as even good and evil. Everything is shades of gray. This of course is a necessity to being a good liberal less they be judged themselves...thus even judgments are forbidden (unless you're a liberal, of course).
It isn't a coincidence that most of the anti-American attitudes...both from the terrorists and our own Leftists, emminate from a common entity. Many of these terrorists, but especially their leaders, are all well-educated men. When one looks at their histories, we see many of them with college degrees...some even from America.
Contrary to public perception, many of the so-called revoltionaries from the Mid-East are Western educated, wealthy too-do individuals who have never been a part of the impoverished class they supposedly represent. Sound familiar? It should...because their "attitudes" are no different from the attitudes that can be found in the American Left, where people like Moore and his cabal pretend to be something they are not.
The Islamofascists have taken a page directly out of the Marxist handbook and are using our Left's hatred of America to justify their terrorism. As a result, there is obviously a kindred relationship between these two groups of American-haters, who use disenfranchisement as an excuse for change...or in the terrorist's case, violence.
Western education, from the schools of America to France, have become increasingly hostile to capitalism and Western values...making the US a prime target of that hatred and vitriol. As noted in an article from Mooreexposed.com, "for the last several decades, the various Third World groups, factions, insurrectionists, and even terrorists have actually adopted the postmodernist lingo coming out of American universities in order to justify their actions."
Because we are being taught that there is no good or bad...or that no culture is superior to another, the Left and people like Moore have essentially helped empower the very people who want to destroy us....because there is no longer any absolute truth that exists. But it's even worse than that, because liberals don't even adhere to their own standards. Rather than leave it at the assumption that everyone is good...or equal, the Left has perpetuated the idea that everything that is wrong in the world is the fault of the West.
The West, still under assault by the Left that wants to impose their socialist utopia, has found new friends who can do the dirty work for them. What exactly did these people expect would happen when what they teach is that anything Western is bad and anything non Western is good? It's sad, but our own academic institutions...and people like Michael Moore, are as complicit in these terrorist acts as anyone else they may blame. The next time MM wants to know why so many people may hate us...he needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror.
Less then 1 % of Americans saw his movie last weekend. The only stiff competition at the time was 'White Chicks'. The far left along with Michael Moore are legends in their own minds. The progressives will once again have to pull every trick possible to make the Presidential race close. We should expect terrorists attacks and there will probably be false reports of election returns similar to 'Gore takes Florida'.
Koch was an infantryman in Italy in World War II, IIRC.
Wasn't it Hitchens that caught the fact that the scene showing an Iraqi woman crying outside of a destroyed building was actually Iraqi propoganda from GW I? We hit a military facility, they claimed it was a baby milk factory?
BRAVO BUMP for Koch!
Mr Mayor Koch, when you are right , you are right.
I have the HIGHEST respect for ANY Democrat who can rise above partisanship and tell it like it is! This is rare these days, I don't have to tell ya. Lieberman, Miller, et al's stocks all rise with me each time they give credit where it's due.
ROTFL!
"How am I doin'" BUMP
"Because we are being taught that there is no good or bad...or that no culture is superior to another"
"they teach is that anything Western is bad and anything non Western is good?"
I believe they preach moral equivalence in order to tear down Western Civilization versus others, and simultaneously hypocritically teach the moral inferiority of Western Civ.
But hey! What's a little logical inconsistency when your goal is the destruction of everything around you?
Thanks
Memo to RNC: GIVE KOCH A SLOT TO SPEAK AT THE CONVENTION!!!!
Yes...that was my point, when I said:
"But it's even worse than that, because liberals don't even adhere to their own standards. Rather than leave it at the assumption that everyone is good...or equal, the Left has perpetuated the idea that everything that is wrong in the world is the fault of the West." Which contradicts their own teachings.
Everything about the left and modern-day liberalism is filled with hypocrisy. While they condemn conservatives for being simple-minded when it comes to "Good Vs. Evil"...they are just as guilty, if not more, when it comes to their perceptions of people like Bush or any Republican.
They are obviously unwilling to see shades of gray when it comes to attacking Bush...but can surely find it when defending people like Saddam or the 9/11 attackers.
I steer my lefty friends over to http://bowlingfortruth.com/ and then after they've read that they're generally less inclined to believe what he's peddling. Even if they go to see the film they know to take it with a grain of salt.
I'm waiting for the fallout from his anti-Israel remark.
Haven't heard much.............
