I just read where Hillary made the following comments in a speech:
"Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you," Sen. Clinton said. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
So, I was just wondering if rich democrats are stupid? Someone tells them they are going to rob them, and they pay to get to hear this? What is wrong with this picture?
In a word, yes.
In other words, they protect the already-rich from competition.
Rich democrats don't pay those taxes, middle class shlubs pay those taxes. Democrats like liberalism because their wealth transfers from generation to generation, and they can keep the rabble from joining them.

Rich people don't pay enormous tax rates so I doubt they care.

No. The underclass are being bribed to support the dems. Rob from the rich and payoff the poor. The rich have a different spin. They want government to have power, because they intend to be the ones pulling the strings and controlling it. They aren't stupid...they are evil. ( I would excempt hollywood leftists from this...they really are stupid.)

Friedrich Engels, co-author with Karl Marx of "The Communist Manifesto", was a rich guy. Many radicals come from wealthy families. Man's basic drive is to find meaning in life, and when people lose faith in more traditional religions, they have a tendency to turn to non-traditional religions like NAZIsm, communism, and radical Islam. As a result the most "idealistic" members of society can also easily turn out to be the most destructive.
