BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - An immigrant who was cleared of suspicions of terrorism but convicted of aiding illegal immigrants has lost his fight to remain in this country and will be deported, a federal official said Tuesday. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement denied the request by Ansar Mahmood to defer a removal order. The department cited the 2002 conviction for harboring illegal immigrants as the primary reason for the decision to send Mahmood back to Pakistan.
The order comes despite public support for the 27-year-old who settled in Hudson, about 100 miles upriver from New York City, and delivered pizza for the local Domino's.
He had raised suspicions when he was seen taking a photograph near a reservoir in the jittery weeks after Sept. 11, 2001. He was long ago cleared of those suspicions but was convicted of harboring for co-signing an apartment lease and registering a car for a Pakistani couple whose visas had expired.
"This is a complete travesty of justice," said Bob Elmendorf, a member of the Ansar Mahmood Defense Committee. "This man did nothing but help his friends."
ICE spokesman Michael Gilhooly said the decision "shows we are committed to returning the integrity to this country's immigration system."
"The harboring and smuggling of illegal aliens continues to pose a serious threat to national security," the agency's five-page ruling said. "By law, your conviction has defined you as an 'aggravated felon' and your removal is in the best interests of national security."
Mahmood had come to the United States in 2000 after receiving a green card in an immigration lottery.
He used the generosity of our system (Green Card lottery) to help others ABUSE our system. Lesson learned. Hope he remembers to clue everybody else in when he returns to his native country.
Don't let the door hit you on your way back to whatever inferior place you came from.

Could Bob be sent to Pakistan along with his friend Ansar?
Surely Ansar would help him get settled in.

Wrong, he broke the laws of our country and now he'll pay the price.
Buh bye.
Good news. I wish I could be certain a judge won't step in an overturn the expulsion order.
It's about time for us to tell the world: We're not taking it any longer. Get the effing out of here.
That remains to be seen.
Okay Michael, would you and your bosses be kind enough to please start to take the same action on those 9 million Mexican's....blah, blah, blah...

That is a capital idea. Really, we must insist that he avail himself of Ansar's hospitality.
If that happens our politicians who fight for open borders and amnesty for illegals should be next in line.
From all reports many, many Pakistanis and other Muslims are heading to Ireland as fast as possible, and they're taking multiple wives, bigamous customs with them. Ireland is waking up to a huge problem, but probably too late. Maybe this guy can move to County Cork. Doubtless they'll bomb a few churches and get the country to rid itself of its heritage so there's room for Islam. Period.

Bob, you are stoopid and wrong, and naive to think this is the only illegal act in which your illegal friend would take part.
Michael Moore is deeply saddned. Who is gonna deliver his pizzas now?
Now wait a second here. This guy is a pizza deliveryman. Who will we get to replace him? It's not as easy as you might think. This is a specialized trade in which only highly trained and qualified people can perform.
One down, 12 million to go.
So did John Walker Lindh.
Oh, now that really ticks me off! Now they're even abusing our steam!
Is there nothing sacred to these people?
Did he take a leak on 'Old Faithful' or something?
He better get his can back to Pakistan and he better not be taking any of our steam with him. ;^)
Try one of the million illegal alien Mexicans here in California, we'll be glad to get rid of him.
