The recipe I quoted is Mrs. Laura Bush's. The nice thing about the article is that it includes pictures of the ladies and their cookies.
I just think there's no comparison here. On the one side, you have beauty and taste...on the other side you have off color and bland...and the cookies aren't so great either.
Hmmm. That looks pretty good. I like the nuts and cherries thing.
Voted for the Lady--Laura. However, I personally go to Costco and pickup pre-mixed chocolate chip batter. Works for me.
Terry Kerry looks like her nose is growing.
Freep the poll at the site. Family Circle claims the first lady who wins the best cookie is from the party that wins the election.

That's sure to be a lunch box favorite.

The First Lady has nice cookies.

Easy recipe that is pretty tasty.
Put 4 tbl ea tarragon vinegar, olive oil into skillet, using garlic press, add 2 garlic cloves to mixture. While pan is heating, sprinkle seasoned s/p on several chicken pieces. Saute' golden brown in garlic oil. Place into baking pan, pour some dry sherry over. Bake 10 min 350 deg. Serve, enjoy!
I made them and they were really good. I think I forgot the cherries tho.. still good.
Tried to shape them like bats but that didn't work.
Nancy Clarke from Family Circle was on Fox and Friends this morning with the cookies. If I remember right Steve liked the pumpkin cookies. They liked both but leaned toward the Pumpkin cookies, but E.D. said that she would rather eat a Pumpkin cookie in the fall. I really think that they wanted to like the Chocolate Chip better.
I was busy in the kitchen while listening, but I was hoping they would pick the Chocolate Chip.
Hey - kill the messenger, not the cookies! Both look great, but Mrs. Bush uses brown sugar (that's a plus in my professional opinion!), and Heinz-Married does not, even though pumpkin clearly calls for it.
Besides, I can't stand that ketchupy woman.

I've never understood recipes that say put in 1/2 a package of chocolate chips. Be realistic here ... what's the harm in just adding the other half cup? You know the cookies will be that much better with MORE chocolate! Besides, at my house, with a teenage son and his friends, that extra 1/2 cup of chocolate chips wouldn't last 3 minutes outside of the bag.
That said ... Laura's cookies sound scrumptious ... think I'll make a batch for the weekend celebrations
