With electric mixer, cream butter and both sugars. Beat in eggs one at a time, then beat in vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and oats; slowly beat until blended. This could be the most important poll of them all...of course they won't publish the results till after the election. Still, I think I read that it's always been accurate in predicting the President.
The recipe I quoted is Mrs. Laura Bush's. The nice thing about the article is that it includes pictures of the ladies and their cookies.
I just think there's no comparison here. On the one side, you have beauty and taste...on the other side you have off color and bland...and the cookies aren't so great either.

Hmmm. That looks pretty good. I like the nuts and cherries thing.

Voted for the Lady--Laura. However, I personally go to Costco and pickup pre-mixed chocolate chip batter. Works for me.

I don't like the sound of the pumpkin cookies. I voted for Laura's cookies.
Terry Kerry looks like her nose is growing.

Not only is her nose growing, she really needs a new 'do'.

Hmmm. Pumpkin spice. Must be an East African Portuguese Apartheid thing.

Yeah, the color is a real turn-off for me. They look like curry. Curry makes me puke.

QUESTION:
Does anyone here believe - even for a second - that Teresa Heinz Kerry bakes her own cookies?

Freep the poll at the site. Family Circle claims the first lady who wins the best cookie is from the party that wins the election.

15 posts and nobody said something about the First Lady's buns. Way to go, FReepers! Personally, I had to smack my fingers with a ruler to stop myselt from posting something to that effect.
I feel better now, having confessed. ;^)
