Scenes in Fahrenheit 911 of U.S. soldiers taunting and sexually humiliating Iraqi civilians following the successful invasion were shot by Urban Hamid, an embedded Swedish-Iraqi journalist who is presently a doctoral candidate at the University of Colorado, the university's student newspaper Camera disclosed today (Tuesday). Moore has declined to respond to questions from interviewers about whether he resorted to subterfuge in order to embed photographers among U.S. forces and has been criticized for not showing footage of the abuses to U.S. military authorities earlier. But Camera reported that the controversial footage by Hamid was actually shown at a theater in Boulder as long ago as March 1 and was subsequently brought to Moore's attention. Hamid, who has lived in the U.S. for the past 12 years, told the newspaper that he has returned to Iraq three times in the past year, presumably to continue to document the course of the war. "Every time I go back, it seems it's gotten worse ... When I last went back, people were so tired and exhausted and had lost hope. It's extremely sad to see."
Dane, as you no doubt recall, I think Moore claimed to have more than one "spy" over there. Both stories could well be true.
"What made military guards and interrogators perform for a liberal cameraman."
Good old fashioned greed.
I have contacted the Republican National Committee and made the offer to them. Friends of mine in S. California did THE CLINTON CHRONICLES and over 200 other films. I am prepared to write it and they are prepared to do it. The problem is that there seems to be no interest at the RNC.
The RNC needs to have a film out there showing the words of all the RATS who talked about WMDs, regime change, etc., but who now conveniently forget their positions because of politics. The film needs to show the failure of Clinton to get bin Laden. It needs to show the good that has happened to Iraq. And it needs to show that every month Hussein is out of power, over 3,000 lives have been saved. Yes, while he was in power, each month 3,000 were killed because of him. Women were raped. Men were put into vats of acid or industrial shredders. Children were imprisoned. Limbs and heads were cut off. That is the Iraq that we are changing.

Later, Moore revealed he had smuggled three camera crews into Iraq to film disillusioned US soldiers for his new documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11.

I can't understand this quote. The people of Iraq are starting self government after living for decades of life under a tyrant. What was expected, we would kick out Saddam and pile into our planes and leave? Talk about wanting instant results. The left in this country are even worse. What was Roosevelt's "exit strategy" in 1941 when we went to war with Japan and Germany? Sixty three years later we are still in those countries. What about Truman's "exit strategy" in Korea? Its been 51 years and we still have troops there.
I fault in part the education system. If people had any idea about past conflicts they might understand this one a little better.
Why do you need the RNC? How about that guy who offered up a million bucks to do this? Do you know what I'm talking about...read it here yesterday.
Urban Hamid - Born in Stockholm, Sweden
Lists his experience, starting in Libya back in 1978.
I've heard things along those lines...
2003 Iraq, March 11th to April 30th (Aftonbladet)
2002 The Phillipines (Freelance Gran Angular)
2001 Pakistan, Afghanistan (Freelance Gran Angular)
2001-2002 Egypt (Freelance Gran Angular)
2001 Palestine (Freelance Gran Angular)
Right off the top it appears that this guy spent a great deal of time in some well known terrorist hotbeds.
I think it was the April 14th of this year, message on his web site, which I believe has been taken down since, where michael moore boasted that he had cameramen incognito in Iraq. Also in that same staement he praised the terrorists trying to kill our servicemen.
Great point. They have a significant control over the universe of ideas, starting at an early age, reinforced by the media and the idiot generation of elitists. That's why anyone that works for truth is an enemy to their cause of completing the American Socialist Nation and conquering the united states of America once and for all.
Not on my watch...
Michael Moore/Berg ping!
Original "research" thread:

And the suppressed 20 minutes of footage interviewing Berg that Moore had and gave to Berg's dad no doubt confirmed that. It more than likely showed him praising the Iraqi insurgents and condemning the American "occupation." Will Moore ever release this footage? No.
Here's a start.

On Thursday, April 8, Hamid was kidnapped and detained with seven South Korean missionaries, who claimed they were doctors and nurses instead of messengers of Christ. The Korean hostages were released seven hours later; Hamid was released within the hour, and faced even more peril in the middle of a firefight between Iraqis and American forces.
Maggie, I am going to read Hamid's first-hand account.
GOOD WORK HILDY!!!!!!!!!!!! We need to send this around, hopefully someone will pick it up, investigate and get it in the news. "Documentary" my a**!!
