Teresa Heinz Kerry, through a network of investments in blue-chip corporations, venture capital funds and municipal bonds, controls a family fortune worth an estimated $1 billion, an examination of public records shows.
The $1-billion figure is double the estimates of her wealth that are widely cited in news stories about her husband, Massachusetts Sen. John F. Kerry, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president.
The couple would rank as the wealthiest to occupy the White House, far surpassing such storied presidential fortunes as the Kennedys'. Their assets are so vast and far-reaching that they mirror the U.S. economy, and will likely raise questions about conflicts of interest.

Move over, 'Big Oil!' Here comes... Big Ketchup?
Oh, but this is democrat ketchup...... No big evil there....hypocrites!
Probably where most of those so called "individual internet donations" are coming from.
Everyone needs to send more money to help Bush air ads against the evil onslaught of the Left.
You'd better believe Botoxoby stalked the widow Heinz 24/7. He was on the verge of bankruptcy when he got his manicured hooks into her. The mere notion of them occupying the WH, esp. as RATs (formerly the party of the blue collar worker, etc.), is mindboggling. Their interests do not mirror what's best for the average American or for the country as a whole. And the fact that the media elite manages to sell this pair as Mr. and Mrs. Ketchup with only a teeny weeny more $ than the rest of us is a masterstroke of PR work. Think of it. We suffered through 8 years of Arkansas carpetbaggers to the prospect of enduring Botoxboy and his ketchup bride (nine years his senior). Like Fat Teddy, Botoxboy's never had a real job in his entire life, other than chasing rich women.
Last night I caught the PBS series on rebels and redcoats, or how Britain lost the colonies. They compared the Vietcong and the Islamofascists to America's founding fathers. Paraphrased: 'They fought for a land of their own, there was a sense of vitality Britain couldn't understand, which is why Britain lost, we lost in Vietnam, and we're eventually going to lose in the Middle East. The good people, little people will win.' Bird song, heavenly chimes and fade to black. Doubtless this series was produced by WGBH, out of Boston. They won't be happy until we're all under the UN communist thumb. Well, except for the elite few, of course, who will continue to live the high life and tell the rest of us what to think and when to think it.
Ketchup and French Fries
I never knew there was so much money in ketchup. This is like the Medellin cartel for condiments, "Manuel, first you get the money, then you get the power then you get women, then the women get the botoxed liberal leeches."
Excerpt from "Hillary Clinton and the Radical Left"..... It is possible to be a socialist, and radical in one's agendas, and yet moderate in the means one regards as practical to achieve them. To change the world, it is first necessary to acquire cultural and political power. And these transitional goals may often be accomplished by indirection and deception even more effectively than by frontal assault. Political stratagems that appear moderate and compromised to radical factions of the left may present an even greater threat from the perspective of the other side. In 1917, Lenin's political slogan wasn't "Socialist Dictatorship! Firing Squads and Gulags!" It was "Bread, Land and Peace."
......The first truth about leftist missionaries, about believing progressives, is that they are liars. But they are not liars in the ordinary way, which is to say by choice. They are liars by necessity-often without even realizing that they are. Because they also lie to themselves. It is the political lie that gives their cause its life.
Why, for example, if you were one of them, would you tell the truth? If you were serious about your role in humanity's vanguard, if you had the knowledge (which others did not), that you were certain would lead them to a better world, why would you tell them a truth that they could not "understand" and that would hold them back?
If others could understand your truth, you would not think of yourself as a "vanguard." You would no longer inhabit the morally charmed world of an elite, whose members alone can see the light and whose mission is to lead the unenlightened towards it. If everybody could see the promised horizon and knew the path to reach it, the future would already have happened and there would be no need for the vanguard of the saints.
That is both the ethical core and psychological heart of what it means to be a part of the left. That is where the gratification comes from. To see yourself as a social redeemer. To feel anointed. In other words: To be progressive is itself the most satisfying narcissism.
That is why it is of little concern to them that their socialist schemes have run aground, burying millions of human beings in their wake. That is why they don't care that their panaceas have caused more human suffering than all the injustices they have ever challenged. That is why they never learn from their "mistakes." That is why the continuance of Them is more important than any truth.
If you were active in the so-called "peace" movement or in the radical wing of the civil rights causes, why would you tell the truth? Why would you tell people that no, you weren't really a "peace activist," except in the sense that you were against America's war. Why would you draw attention to the fact that while you called yourselves "peace activists," you didn't oppose the Communists' war, and were gratified when America's enemies won?
What you were really against was not war at all, but American "imperialism" and American capitalism. What you truly hated was America's democracy, which you knew to be a "sham" because it was controlled by money in the end. That's why you wanted to "Bring the Troops Home," as your slogan said. Because if America's troops came home, America would lose and the Communists would win. And the progressive future would be one step closer.
.....Mo matter how opportunistically the left's agendas have been modified, however, no matter how circumspectly its goals have been set, no matter how generous its concessions to political reality, the faithful have not given up their self-justifying belief that they can bring about a social redemption. In other words, a world in which human consciousness is changed, human relations refashioned, social institutions transformed, and in which "social justice" prevails. .....
how public-spirited of her: investing in municipal sewer systems and other public projects. hmmm......could these be investments in muni bonds the income from which comes to her WITHOUT TAX? i believe her tax-rate is about half of mine with all her tax-frees! isn't that the story - her low tax-rate????
I meant to see that PBS series. Glad I was spared the indigestion.
The Times analysis produced estimates as low as $900 million and as high as $3.2 billion. It's certainly "conservative"...$100 million off the low end but $2,200 million off the high end.Three senior executives at investment firms that handle accounts for wealthy clients reviewed The Times' study and said the $1-billion valuation was a fair and conservative estimate.
There is a hidden problem that should be discussed. Most of this fortune was amassed before the marriage of John Kerry and Theresa Heinz. In terms of a divorce settlement, most of the property would revert to Theresa. In reality, we should be voting for Theresa. She has the ability to make or break any idea Kerry would make as President. He has to endorse any idea she has in matters pertaining to her corporation or interests. If you think we need a surrogate in the White House, by all means, vote for John Kerry.
And we're considered the "rich" and not paying our fair share.
"No Blood for Ketchup!"
Although, ketchup does make good costume blood.
You understand that her assets are very diversified, right? Apparently the management of Heinz Ketchup is fairly conservative and Republican. Heinz only owns like 4% of Heinz Ketchup....
Great point!
Minor detail... our revolution resulted in a democracy. In the case of Vietnam, it resulted in genocide. Then again, democracy is not all that important to liberals and leftists.
While I confess I did not see the piece on PBS, it's typical lefty/lib thinking. I remember seeing a special on PBS circa 1987 featuring the "human rights" activist Gwynne Dyer. This dope goes through Eastern Europe stating how happy they are under communism and how they have no desire to be like the West. In fact, the claim was that they feared the West and were much more comfortable under the Soviets. Of course he built on that lie to go on to the Reagan's-a-warmonger-and-the-US-are imbiciles-for-not-understanding-the-subilities rant. Funny thing is that when the Soviets collapsed and the East rejected socialism/communism, no member of the media called this boob on it. In fact, Mr. Dyer is still regarded as an intellectual man with keen insights by the academic and media elites.
Nauseating indeed!
