I don't have a CD-burner and want to purchase some patriotic music CD's from Amazon. Any suggestions?
I already have Lee Greenwood's CD and Daryl Worley's.
I'm thinking about ordering Esprit de Corp by the United States Air Force Band.
Well...
I love Martha Mcbride (Martina? Martha - am I wrong, I'm not being a wise gal.). I have to hear her sing it though. I'm sure I'll enjoy it too :)
I still love hearing Whitney sing the Anthem. It is beautiful the way Whitney sings it!

Interesting. Never heard that version with Huey. I will have to find it and listen.
Victory at Sea....the BEST. Also anything by Aaron Copeland. Not exactly patriotic, but definately Americana.
Thank you for that information
PING
Yes...Interested!
Thanks for the info.
There are good Copland tracks on the AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL Boston Pops CD as well as the Cincinnati Pops CD mentioned in my first post above. "Hoedown," "Fanfare for the Common Man," "Appalachian Spring."
For more great Americana, I highly recommend the soundtrack to THE BIG COUNTRY by Jerome Moross. Some of the greatest "Western" music ever composed.
HOW THE WEST WAS WON also has wonderful Americana, including the main theme by Alfred Newman and choral tracks such as "Bound for the Promised Land." Very evocative of the American pioneer spirit.
For the pioneer spirit in another vein, I recommend the soundtracks of THE RIGHT STUFF and APOLLO 13.
Thanks for starting the thread. Bump for reference. I like the the sound track from We were Soldiers...Mansions of the lord is on there. (Track #17 was the processional at President Reagan's funeral and brought me to tears!) I'm listening to it right now!
AMEN!
Martina....
...the video to Independence Day ran more like The Burning Bed.
...a beaten wife burns down the house to get him and her.
...Hannity has promoted the intro to good effect and Martina is nominally Republican (I think)
Sweet Home Alabama is patriotic for Alabamians, which I'm not. Sweet Home Mississippi doesn't quite work.
I am fond of Toby Keith's Boot in Yer Ass song myself.
BTW is the Communist Broadcasting Stooges doing the Boston pops Program this year?
If so will have to watch something else, the one from Nashville was pretty good last year.
very nice link.
