Thanks for the head's up. I had no idea they were trying to sneak this in as an amendment to the defense bill. That's low, un-Godly, and a threat to our national security.

Supporters must think they can spin this into a win during an election year.

I think their 'grass roots' is very vocal and angry, don't represent the 'will of the people' - and are leading their elected reps astray.

A "law" against "hate crimes," by definition (is means is, yes means yes, no means no), would threaten the freedom of every Hindu, Buddhist, witch, agnostic, Muslim and atheist in the world.

Hate is the opposite of love.

God is love - as His Word, history, millions of eye-witnesses, and any Christian child will prove.

Crime, by definition, a "wicked or forbidden act," punishable by "law."

Any "wicked or forbidden (un-Godly) act" (thought, word) is a crime against God, a "hate" crime (a sin).

We're all unable to keep that 'law' on our own - as thousands of years of history, current culture, each of our hearts proves - without the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

We're all guilty of "hate crimes," in need of daily forgiveness, and anyone who hasn't accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and received the Holy Spirit, confessed their sins and repented (as we are all sinners, and can not live blameless in our weak flesh by our own will) - remains unpardoned, unforgiven - "go directly to jail, do not collect the $200.00" - guilty of "hate crimes."

Christians are going to have their hands full converting all His lost in America if this 'law' becomes "law". (^:

It is, in a sense, hate thought because it boils down to what someone was thinking when the crime was committed. So rather than punishing the physical act there is added punishment for what one was thinking.

Another question which I don't know the answer to is does this federalize many crimes that have in the past been in the realm of the state? For instance I would guess that most (all?) assualt cases are prosecuted by the city/state. If there's hate thought involved does it then become a federal crime?

I dunno what you might do -- but I became a law student at age 59 and when I'm through and am admitted to the Bar will, pro bono, be available until I have drawn my last breath to fight for the restoration of the United States Constitution and of Our Beloved FRaternal Republic.

And getting rid of the feral education establishment will be one place to begin.

Please don't confuse the words "hate crime" with a God in this matter - God is far removed from this legislation.

This legislation would prohibit and make unlawful the preaching of God's Word against sin and those doing so would be criminials.

This is already the case in Canada. We don't want this to come to America.

I understand what this bill is all about, Happy, and know what they've done in Canada - and are doing across Europe.

My post stands. By our own language, those who are pushing to make "hate crimes" illegal, are judging and convicting NON-Christians.

I know they don't mean it that way, but by the words they chose to label their un-Godly bill, they are, in reality, convicting themselves.

What amazes me is the number of people - even God believing ones - who shut their eyes to this onslaught. It's like they don't want to realize the fact that the very foundation of our existence as a country - even world (the homo-nazis are all over the world) is in a fight to the death. And it's not just homosexuality - it's "everything" sexuality, and the only way to implement this is to take control of OUR children.

If people want to stay asleep, there's reasons for it. Usually it's because they want to continue enjoying their dream of life, and don't want the truth to disturb them. Even the dream of a nice "Christian" life where everything is cozy and nice.

Christianity doesn't mean cozy and nice. Didn't Jesus Christ say something about coming to split mothers from daughters and fathers from sons? Some will want the light of truth and some won't.

Ok, if someone beats ME up it's a lesser crime.

The whole concept of "Hate Crimes" is hateful. It makes some segments of the population more "special" than others. Of course it's horrible to beat up a person in a wheelchair, and that additional cruelty can always be taken into consideration upon sentencing or charging.

But to make "sexual orientation" part of something that is already bad just carries it over into the world of 1984. For one thing, being a woman, or black, or disabled is a real physical difference. But "homosexuality" is a continuum that people can ESCAPE FROM. This kind of legislation sets people who practice same sex sodomy apart as a special class, and that is such a bad precedent that we will look back in horror at this if things don't turn around.

And often "perceived orientation" winds up sneaking in there, to further gum up the works.

Mandatory psychological counselling, re-education camps, how about "child abuse" consisting of parents who are "homophobes", with CPS stepping in?

I believe this does make it a federal crime; AFAIK all "hate crimes" are federal. I hope a more knowledgeable freeper will chime in here.
