Iran seeks swap of Brits for suicide attackers

Report says 40 Revolutionary Guard 'volunteers' held by UK

Iran apprehended British military personnel and Navy vessels earlier this week in order to secure release of 40 "suicide operations volunteers" held by the UK, according to an Iranian Revolutionary Guard source.

The source told the London Arabic-language daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that the British Army command in Iraq received the demand from the Revolutionary Guard, reported the Middle East Media Research Institute.

According to the source, the content of the message was very simple: "Release our comrades, whom you are holding, and we will release your soldiers."

I wasn't aware of Ms. Mylroie's info. Had I known, I would have used it as a gold star on my analysis. I first saw her on C-SPAN some years ago and recognized her as a great analytical talent (could it be because I agreed with her?)
The woman she is unfortunately a vastly underused resource in this country. Tom Friedman is trotted out to pontificate on Middle East affairs while the major media lay at his feet waiting for pearls of wisdom to fall.

Seems like out of the blue.....I also checked WHO and CDC and found nothing related to US. But one wonders why this story now. No new outbreaks since 2001.

Odd that in searching Yahoo news almost every media outlet has latched onto this story including Newsweek and every major paper. Hmmmmm (calling it a possibility in the war against agri-terror)

I did find this little tidbit of what it can do....AND it blows in the wind so to speak. The wind can blow the mosquito's miles. Does also create kidney & liver problems in humans along with the other symptoms listed.

Same here! My whole point in starting this line of discussion is that we need to work smarter. Knowledge should be linked to reality and not unfounded rumor. I think we've all seen a lot of unfounded rumors here. It is your 'well within reason' desire I'm hoping folks can focus upon.

When the AP article on rift valley was first referenced I thought briefly of that BBC rumor someone referenced last week...something about national security in the UK that we have yet to hear any more about. AP is probably just as bad as the BBC and I suspect someone high up is filling an agenda kettle.
