St. Louis FREEPERS. Need help tracking down terrorist reports at the local fire stations.

Dear St. Louis Freepers,

I read a web page online that said suspicious men of Middle Eastern descent were reported Aug. 2002 at three separate fire stations in St. Louis. The men used video cameras to record the facility, asked suspicious questions about load capacity, emergency equipment and floor plans. All the men were chased away by the fire safety personnel. I've performed dozens of web searches to confirm this information but haven't found it anywhere. Can anyone in St. Louis confirm this? I'm building a report on terrorism and would greatly appreciate any help that comes my way. Thank you!

I don't know about this event, but a lot of this kind of news that is barely reported is posted on the Daily Threat Matrix -- which already has it's 10th thread. You'd have to wade through some 5000 posts per thread. But you may take a look and see if you find anything that is of use to you, and may post your question there too.

AFAIK, it's been largely ignored.

It was mentioned a few times on the local news and the Post-Dispatch before the whole issue faded away. SLFD didn't refer the case to the proper authorities, so it just disappeared from the radars.

Go straight to the firehouses and ask. And one needs to ask why the firemen did not call the FBI with this info?

But, ya know, the trail is almost 2 years old now. And these fellas didn't get any information from the firehouses, so really what is the benefit of trying to track it down now?
