Place the computer in the driveway and wash it down really well with a pressure washer. I recommend at least 20,000 psi. Let it dry and reboot.

There's a place near hear that offers "Computer Spin Balancing".
Perhaps you should have it spin-balanced...

See # 34. I can't get rid of CleverlEHooker either, and I've tried everything short of a total reinstall.

About every other weekend I go over to my father-in-laws house to help him with his computer because it has slowed to a crawl and pop-ups are all over th place. Every time its the same thing: He has downloaded endless amounts of files, and his computer is loaded with spyware, trojans, you name it. I run adaware, and spybot and all sorts of stuff and clean it all out.
Only this time I have a problem: Whenever internet explorer is opened, another IE window opens with an ad. I can't seem to find the source of this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Mol, if you are running XP disable your registry before deleting, then delete and reboot. After rebooting enable your registry again. Presto it won't come back. Much better than formatting the hard drive. You won't lose all your information this way.
I think what is happening is your registry is restoring what you deleted.
