Wow, I just watched the 4 minute video that Hannity was talking about last night and that has also been mentioned elsewhere - just not in the main press.
While it is very graphic, I can not understand why the media does not show this. Today's Hollywood horror is far more graphic. That it is real? Is that the reason Americans can not handle this? Or is it true the liberal media simply does not want to show it as charged by some, that the lib media thinks it will take away from the Abu Ghraib horror of images of panties on some guys head?
4 minute video Link has two video formats in case one does not work on your computer.
Election season, my FRiend. Election season.
It's a tad more abusive than panties on prisoners' heads, isn't it.
[Too bad the leftists/liberals can't distinguish between real torture and pranks.]
And they say the China Daily is biased!
Exactly. It doesn't fit the liberal/media agenda---Abu Ghraib panties are bad for Bush; Saddam tortures are not.
When you say "media", do you mean the 6 o'clock news? I don't think parents will want their kids watching chop/torture videos during primetime (or any other time, IMHO). On the other hand, its perfectly OK for CNN to show slaughtered Marines...

Animals. I will never let another leftist tell me America is bad without asking weather they watched this video. I am glad we are over there taking care of this situation.
I'm not planning to look at it.
I agree that the media are hypocrites. But the proper thing to have done was not to have played up Abu Ghraib--which was already under military investigation--and not to have shown those pictures--which inflamed Arab anger at the U.S. and gave the Euros ammunition for stabbing us in the back again.
The media had a perfect right to quietly mention that prison abuse was being investigated. And they should certainly mention, in the present circumstances, that things in Saddam's prisons were far, far worse. Real torture, not degrading horseplay.
I think a real service was done to point out that this video exists, and to give a brief description of it. But I don't want to see it, any more than I wanted to see the Abu Ghraib photos.
Since I missed Hannity and I'm too much of a coward to watch the video, can I have a brief summary?
Ted Kennedy did not get the memo. Abu Ghraib prison is under different management now, and it is no longer the policy to behead or mutilate prisoners. They have the option, however, to wear panties on their heads.
I saw Hannity last night, but I assume the videos he showed were 'edited for television'? Is this 4 minute clip 'all-inclusive'?
RaceBannon: FYI
Oh, gee, and this kind of action from Saddams "SECULAR" regime. No similarity to terrorists, no siree...
Ditto for me...(and when kiddo's are out of computer area.)
I watch this thinking about the "Human Shields" that were seeking to deploy themselves in Iraq... they need to see this. They need to get a grip on what was going on there. They along with their liberal syncophants need a wake up call. Perhaps the never ending violence will somehow/someday do that??
Recall those casual comments of whatever they do in their country is up to them (or similar excuses for not getting involved). Recall that many "enlightened" libs felt that protecting Saddam, and reasoning with them, and excercising their (I guess) magical powers of influence would somehow change things in Iraq. Or perhaps in any Islamic country. They're fools. They're dangerous to those Nations trying to keep these violent nutjobs contained.
The video shows why there's disgust over the lifestyle in certain Islamic countries. It's barbaric. It's centuries behind the rest of civilization. These folks do not think like modern people do, they are madrassa mind numbed psychopaths. It's an evil cult and it is bent on destruction of the world.
There are four scenes:
First Scene: What appears to be doctors wearing surgical gloves show a prisoner hand and then using what appears to be scapples, they begin cutting into the hand. It looks like a very srugical procedure. They carve around the skin and meat and then dive the scalples into the tendons and bone to complete the task of seperating the hand from the arm at the wrist. The hand is tossed onto some sort of blanket. Most of the video is very close up and in great detail.
Second Scene: A prisoner is seated in the dirt along a low stone wall that is about 2 1/2 feet high. His arm is resting on the wall, his hand straped to a board and it appears his fingers are clamped into some sort of device at the end of the board.
A man weilding a long bladed sword is moving the sword in an up and down motion as if he is practicing his swing. And then with a final swing he cuts off the fingers of the prisoner just below the knuckles on the hand.
Third Scene: A prisoner is seated along the dirt wall again - same 2 1/2 foot high wall. His arm is resting on the wall, his arm is straped to a board. A man weilding a long bladed sword is moving the sword in an up and down motion as if he is practicing his swing. And then with a final swing he cuts off the prisoners hand. The prisoner who was kneeling falls back to his butt from the shock and the lean against the wall writhering in pain and anquish. The severed hand is shown laying on the ground.
Fourth scene: A man is severly beaten with what appears to be a rubber hose. Many shots are delivered to the kidneys. He has his hands tied around a pole and another man is tugging with all is weight on the bindings that hold the prisoners hands together to keep him pulled up against the pole. The prisoner is in great pain as many, many blows are delivered.
Fifth scene: Show a prisoner standing next to an officer that is reading a statement. The statement says the for failing in his duties, the prisoner that is apparantly a member of Saddam's military will have his head cut off while his unit watches. No video is shown of the beheading.
This may not be the exact order and some details may need correction. That is from memory. I did not want to take the time to watch it again. I already have seen these are very sick people.
