Parents Beware: Shrek 2 Features Transgenderism and Crossdressing Themes
Traditional Values Coalition ^ | May 28, 2004

Summary: The DreamWorks' animated film, "Shrek 2," is billed as harmless entertainment but contains subtle sexual messages.

Parents who are thinking about taking their children to see "Shrek 2", may wish to consider the following: The movie features a male-to-female transgender (in transition) as an evil bartender. The character has a five o'clock shadow, wears a dress and has female breasts. It is clear that he is a she-male. His voice is that of talk show host Larry King.

During a dance scene at the end of the movie, this transgendered man expresses sexual desire for Prince Charming, jumps on him, and both tumble to the floor.

In another scene in the movie, Shrek and Donkey need to be rescued from a dungeon where they are chained against the wall. The rescue is conducted by pinnochio who is asked to lie so his nose will grow long enough for one of the smaller cartoon characters to use it as a bridge to reach Shrek and Donkey. Donkey encourages him to lie about something and suggetsts he lie about wearing women's underwear. When he denies wearing women's underwear, his nose begins to grow.

An earlier scene in the movie features a wolf dressed in grandma's clothing and reading a book when Prince Charming encounters him. Later, one of the characters refers to the wolf's gender confusion.

TVC's report "A gender Identity Disorder Goes Mainstream" explains the transgender agenda and the effort to deconstruct the biological reality of male and female. DreamWorks is helping in this effort by promoting cross dressing and transgenderism in this animated film.

Well, the original Cinderella was pretty "Grimm" for a kid's story:

"But she could not get her big toe into it, and the shoe was too small for her. Then her mother gave her a knife and said, cut the toe off, when you are queen you will have no more need to go on foot. The maiden cut the toe off, forced the foot into the shoe, swallowed the pain, and went out to the king's son..."

"...Then he looked at her foot and saw how the blood was trickling
from it. He turned his horse round and took the false bride
home again, and said she was not the true one, and that the
other sister was to put the shoe on. Then this one went into her
chamber and got her toes safely into the shoe, but her heel was
too large. So her mother gave her a knife and said, cut a bit
off your heel, when you are queen you will have no more need
to go on foot. The maiden cut a bit off her heel, forced
her foot into the shoe, swallowed the pain, and went out to the
king's son..."

"...He looked down at her foot and saw how the blood was running
out of her shoe, and how it had stained her white stocking quite
red. Then he turned his horse and took the false bride home
again. This also is not the right one, said he, have you no
other daughter. No, said the man, there is still a little
stunted kitchen-wench which my late wife left behind her, but
she cannot possibly be the bride. The king's son said he was
to send her up to him, but the mother answered, oh, no, she is
much too dirty, she cannot show herself. But he absolutely
insisted on it, and cinderella had to be called. She first
washed her hands and face clean, and then went and bowed down before the king's son, who gave her the golden shoe. Then she seated herself on a stool, drew her foot out of the heavy
wooden shoe, and put it into the slipper, which fitted like a
glove. And when she rose up and the king's son looked at her
face he recognized the beautiful maiden who had danced with
him and cried, that is the true bride."

There should be greater concern over giant, stupid gingerbread men.

Homosexuality is abhorrent in ANY form.

Even in the form of a female cartoon character with five-o-clock shadow?
IS that even homsexuality? I think a few of you folks are closet
talibaners, quite frankly. Unclench, already.

It's an animated comedy, for crying out loud.

And believe it or not, kids tell fag jokes.
They think homos are ridiculous and funny.
Objects of scorn and ridicule.. get it?
To make such an issue as you have of them grants them more legitimacy.

"Hey if you are a closet cross dresser and feeling attacked, well so be it. "

LOL! What an idiot you are!

"I'm sick of it. It's so COMMON PLACE that it is no longer funny to me. It's sick. "

Perhaps it is your lifestyle that needs adjustment. I literally NEVER see cross-dressers or t-genders so I have to ask - just where the hell are you hanging out to see them 'so COMMON PLACE'? I work in a very-large international corporation (300,000+ employees) and that type of behavior isn't tolerated here. Weekends I spend with my family and on the golf course or playing poker with friends. I'm not bothered by what I don't see, what I don't expose myself to, and by what doesn't affect me.

Why are you? Perhaps it is YOU whose sexuality is somehow threatened?

"I just like getting under your very thin skin."

It's not difficult, sinkspur.

At the moment, I'm extremely amused by L-fc's 'homosexual apologist' soundbyte hurled at you, as that isn't very reflective of 100% of the posts I've read by you.

But then, accuracy isn't usually these paranoid types' forte, is it?

Please show me the post in which someone tried to point that out to me. I must have missed that.

The only time I've knowingly seen cross dressers was in the French Quarter on New Year's Eve 1989, I believe. And on tv/movies. And once we put dance costumes on our two-year-old son. That was pretty funny. Is it so very common? And I'm sure I wear hubby's shirts once a week or more. Is there something wrong with me? (I've even worn his shirts in PUBLIC.)

"There should be greater concern over giant, stupid gingerbread men."

Or giant, obese, bearded, ridiculously-dressed white men flying around in sleighs pulled by mythical flying reindeer, impossibly giving gifts to children everywhere and continuing the turning of Christmas into the disgusting, secular, materialistic holiday it has become.

It was a great movie. I recommend all see it. The only problem I have is that the Donkey( Eddie Murphy ) does not have the "Cross" marking on his back.

Its not a question of who's "making them" see this movie, it is a question of how this movie portrays crossdressing in a generally cute and funny way, like the scene where pinocchio lies about not wearing women's underwear so that his nose will grow.

Proverbially speaking(which deals with getting kids slowly adjusted to crossdressing themes and the like): "You don't turn the heat up all at once to boil the frog, you turn it up gradually".

No, you are a homosexual apologist...and me calling it like it is(concerning you) doesn't mean that you are getting under my skin.

but then, a flea egg has been known to get under a person's skin from time to time, so you might succeed in doing so.

Please stop the comparisons of Shrek2 with cartoons back 20-40 years ago. They don't compare. Back then transvesticism wasn't being taught within schools, back then homosexuality wasn't deemed "normal", back then there wasn't any cartoons on the major TV stations or within the movie theaters that were billed as a childrens movie that had character's like pinocchio in the movie Shrek2 lying about not wearing women's underwear.

Please, I have addressed this already. I goofed up in typing because I was in a rush, and didn't pay as close enough of attention as I should have.

Please try and make some sort of contribution other than an attempt(that failed) at being humorous.

I wouldn't doubt that this isn't the first time you have asked men to take off their undies, especially if you are a man.

Xenalyte to Hillary's lovely legs: "I bet you have on womens underwear RIGHT THIS SECOND..."I doubt that would be the case if you were nearby, though.
