New York's summer social season started not at the Hamptons, but tonight at the Museum of Modern Art with the book party for former President Bill Clinton's memoirs, My Life. Tout le monde came and went to bask in Clinton's afterglow and to pay homage to the only Democrat in the last quarter century to occupy the White House.
While they may say they came to celebrate his presidency, deep inside they know they really came to see the man who brought Monica Lewinsky to her knees in the Oval Office.
Outside the museum, two FReepers (Doctor Raoul and firebrand) stood across the street greeting the celebrants with this reminder: a large sign that said, "IF OSAMA WAS A PIECE OF ASS, CLINTON WOULD HAVE NAILED HIM."
Sixty Minutes fossil Andy Rooney was the first to encounter the Osama sign bearers. He walked over, read the sign and silently walked away.
Clinton apologist Joe Conason said, "He's a horse's ass" about Raoul to a group taking pictures.
The two FReepers got a fair amount of media interest. Most of the local TV news channels filmed and interviewed them. Look for coverage on the 10 or 11 o'clock news, or in the morning.
Raoul and firebrand had a good time bantering with passersby and some of the guests who were leaving the party.
Scarborough Country just showed a still picture of Doctor Raoul holding the sign.
Bump your bump. We'll have to do something for the ATL appearance.
The still shot of Doc and his sign was up on the TV screen for maybe 10 seconds, and you could hear Scarborough and his set crew guffawing. Scarborough said something to the effect of, "The guys want me to read you what the sign says, but you all can read it yourselves."
What a riot!
Raoul and firebrand, you may want to keep an eye over your shoulder for a few days. This has to have PO'd x42 and his lovely bride. According to the video of the grand entrance, they arrived hand-in-hand to the bash.
I don't know where x42's leggy young blonde was...
I am sorry I missed it.
Neat!!!
I would love to but I'll be in Oregon with my family when the reprobate comes to Atlanta. I'll help bump your thread though!
His Slickness needs to be embarassed whenever possible about what he did.
The common man that voted for him needs to be confronted about the implications of their choice.
The newsmedia are often at events like this, so these are occasions that we must take advantage of.
LOL! Loved that Conason line.
On Jimmy Buffett's first live album in the mid 70's, he's wearing a shirt that says "Don't buy books from crooks" referring to Nixon. Maybe we should resurrect that saying.
Hey dummy, you mispelled "mistress".
Point taken but I am going to sit this one out : )
BTW I did think today went well for those that protested : )
Dammit...I musta been watching FoxNewsChannel at that time...LOL!!
Great FReep, though...reckon SlickWillie ain't gonna get a lick of peace from FReepers accross the continent...LOL!!
FReegards...MUD
We're off for round two....
hehe! I have that pic too. I don't post it often, and always post it as a link.
Good luck and be loud...MUD
BWAhahahahahahahaha!
Anybody have a way to post that album cover?
From the media overkill on this book, it seems to me that they're doing anything they can to make the country forget that awful (to the leftists) week when we were reminded of what a great President we had in the 80s.
This is all about redefining the Clinton Legacy. The Press and the Print media will give Bill the Full Monica.
You will see History attempted to be re-written to create greatness out of Arkansas scum.
The whole mess is all about that. The past weeks only intestified that in the eyes of the Left because of the outpouring of love towards Ronald Reagan.
Fotunately the only time that that many people will come out to see the Clintons is to p!ss on their graves.
I will be at the head of the line.
The local critics should stick to what they know best, serving truffles with Tea and needlepoint.
