Has Cuba's septuagenarian dictator finally gone senile? Fidel Castro is doing everything possible to secure the re-election of his archenemy, President Bush. The crucial Cuban-American voting bloc in crucial Florida has lost some of its enthusiasm for Bush, but Castro seems determined to repair the damage by directing one rant after another at the president.
Today the dictator accused Bush yet again of planning to invade his tropical gulag.
'Crazy'
"Do not try crazy adventures such as surgical strikes or wars of attrition using sophisticated techniques because you could lose control of the situation," Castro said this morning in a speech addressed to Bush.
"You could shatter the immigration agreement and provoke a mass exodus that we would not be in a position to prevent, and you could bring about an all-out war between young American soldiers and the Cuban people. That would be very sad.
"You would never be able to win that war," he croaked. "Here you will not find a divided people."
If the White House sends the dictator a thank-you basket, we suggest it include plenty more of what he's been smoking, which seems to be stronger than cigars.
I wonder what stage of Alzheimers he is in?
Neither was Iraq divided. Saddam had elections where he "won" 100% of the vote cast. Yeah right!
Castro has been evil, but never stupid.
Poor Fidel. Someone should tell him to ignore the FAXes from Terry McAuliffe - he's starting to believe this stuff.
Because too many people can't discerne it from the truth?
No, The Onion complained.
But I'm sure some people did think some of their stories were true.(The same people that get their news from 'The Daily Show.')
Of course it is divided.
Those who agree with him - and those who are in jail.
"Here you will not find a divided people."
Now that he's shot the ones who don't agree with him.
