Just got through watching NBC'S Dateline with the segment on Ron Reagan. He was being interviewed by Chris Matthews. Ron will be on again on Monday with Matthews on Hardball. Anyone see the show and if so what are your thoughts?

Let's face it. Liberals love losers and Ron Jr. is a big one. The fact that he just lost his father just brings him closer to their hearts. Little ron thinks he deserves his fifteen minutes of fame riding on his fathers name and the libs will give him 30.

I don't think it's just Dateline tht has an agenda. I think it's the whole NBC network! They even got to where they spewed their anti-Bush stuff during ER (which I've watched for the last time!) If they would just invite Dan Rather to come on over, there would be THE perfect liberal network they've all been wanting but don't seem to think they have!

Yes, now that will be the next rude and embarrassing moment when Patti emerges from her cocoon and opens her mouth to pontificate.
She needs a wardrobe consultant and hair stylist.
That first big Family affair at the Reagan Library she looked, as someone else pointed out, like she had come directly from her waitressing job at the local IHOP.
The clothes she wore were a terrible choice. She had Had plenty of time to make sure she looked correct and knowing she was going to be on public scrutiny to the nation.
No Class, style or manners.
Ron tonight wearing a blue jean jacket and trying to come off looking like a throwback to the 60's. All that was missing was a bandanna and a American Flag on the back of his jacket. Come on at least try and dress right.

He also felt his Father would not have done the things W. has in this War on Terror........

I served seven and a half years of active duty under Ronald Reagan. He was one of the great Presidents in American history but he was not a god.

Beirut was not a high point.

So Reagan might not have done some things the same as Bush. So what? It does not make Bush wrong.

"...it was her influence and lack of his that made Ron and Patty what they have become."

Yes our parents influence alot, but we still wilfully choose to rebel against what God says. They've chosen, but they won't want to choose anything else if people keep bashing them instead of giving them the love they need.

Michael said the first part of the week that he, Patti, and Ron all loved their father and "would fall on a sword for him".

Ron's one ugly SOB, inside and out. For such a handsome man, Ronald W. Reagan didn't have the best looking kids. Patti was always a dog too. Maybe Ron Jr. can win her a ribbon at one of his dog shows. She can stick it in that mop that she passes off as hair.

Beirut may have been a mistake.
But I think if Reagan had Had 9-11 happen on his watch he would have moved Heaven and Earth to take out as many terrorists as possible and given no quarter to any that would have harbored them. Much the same as Bush has.

I've never understood the TV ratings numbers...if we all watch a program to see what a liberal says, are we giving them better ratings? Can they actually tell the numbers, or is it only through devices purposely attached to the TV?

My main feeling was that it was totally inappropriate for Ron to accuse GW of being a religious hypocrite and using religion to manipulate Americans. I think his father would strongly disapprove of that.

Look for Ron Reagan at the DNC convention. He may even be a prime time speaker.

Imagine the glee with the repeated "I knew Ronald W. Reagan, He was a friend, He was my father. Mr Bush you are no Ronald W. Reagan."

I am sure that he would have.

However, Ron, Jr. is making the point that Reagan would have "done some things differently" in order to try to use his father's prestige to bash Bush.

The bottom line is that that assertion is irrelevant. We may ask ourselves "What would Jesus do?" to try to find a correct path. In human endeavors, however, no human has a monoply on the "correct path".

Reagan and Bush are both skinning the cat in their own ways.

"Much ado about nothing. I was watching US Open highlights on the Golf Channel. Didn't even know Dateline was on. Unfortunately now I'm watching Dan Rather drool about Clinton on Larry King (Christ..Larry just said Ron Reagan would be his guest on Wednesday). These people are so predictable its' comical. Don't lose sleep over this one folks."

Why waste all of those words and not tell us who is leading? I've been to a viewing of an old friend and missed the news.

but when it came to rearing kids you have to tip your hat to Jane Wyman.

Actually I have read that Michael Reagan did not get along with his mother Jane Wyman and because of this he went at a young age to live with Nancy and Ronald but that then Nancy resented him being there and there was a strain there also. I credit Michael Reagan being Michael to Michael and his turn to the Lord helped tremendously. His book "OUTSIDE LOOKING IN" describes his young life. I think that his generation were a stronger lot and didn't have as much TV etc. to influence decisions. I really believe that he grew up appreciating what he had no matter what and learned from there. He is an extraordinary man and I would love for my kids, husband and I to meet Michael Reagan one day and shake his hand. If President Reagan didn't know what a wonderful son he had before he certainly does now and he waits patiently for him to join him one day as his son does also.

That is one of the most revolting replies I've seen here in a long time. I'm surprised it wasn't yanked.
