Vice Chairman of the 9/11 Commission Lee Hamilton blasted the mainstream press yesterday for distorting the Commission's findings on links between Iraq and al Qaida before the Sept. 11 attacks, saying those findings actually support Bush administration contentions."The sharp differences that the press has drawn [between the White House and the Commission] are not that apparent to me," Hamilton told the Associated Press, a day after insisting that his probe uncovered "all kinds" of connections between Osama bin Laden's terror network and Iraq.
Vice Chairman of the 9/11 Commission Lee Hamilton blasted the mainstream press yesterday for distorting the Commission's findings on links between Iraq and al Qaida before the Sept. 11 attacks, saying those findings actually support Bush administration contentions.
"The sharp differences that the press has drawn [between the White House and the Commission] are not that apparent to me," Hamilton told the Associated Press, a day after insisting that his probe uncovered "all kinds" of connections between Osama bin Laden's terror network and Iraq.
That makes him even more of a rarity.
No it won't get any play in the dominant media because it doesn't matter to them. I contacted the public editor for my local paper yesterday and accused the of deliberately lying with their headline yesterday. I don't for a second believe that the reporters who reported that the commission was at odds with the administration's position were mistaken. They weren't. They were lying. They have gone into full blown propoganda mode and the truth be damned. The NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC etc all zeroed in on one sentence and totally distorted that sentence and ignored every other part of the paragraph. This was a mistake? A coincidence that every player in the dominant media made the same mistake?
"A Democrat with scruples? Put him in a museum."
No, it makes him a bigger RAT. The retraction will not hit the front page. It will be printed on page 32 next to the Depends ad.
Then the press can say they issued a retraction.
No they won't. This worked out Beautifully to Bush's Advantage, because Comrade Kerry wasn't smart enought to keep his mouth shut until it played OUT in the press. Hanoi John was running off at the mouth from the git-go.
I would expect to see a repeat of the "Pessimism" Commercial, contrasting the Report, Hamilton, and then Kerry's claims of Lying.
Truth will, sooner - or later.
BG Burkett spent years researching and debunking the lies our free press told about Vietnam.
We have many non-mainstream sources today.
Look at all the stories available already countering media claims / the 911 Commission.
Once they hear, people are changed - and will continue to look beyond the mainstream for the truth.
We have only one Allie in this and the liberals are trying their best to censor him, and that is Rush Limbaugh. Also, Shawn Hannity.
The first paragraph:
WASHINGTON - Disputing the findings of the commission investigating the Sept. 11 terror attacks, President Bush continues to insist there was a link between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida.
It sure reads like the commission found no links. Hamilton is eventually quoted
or, paraphrased
in the 11th paragraph.
Both Chairmen took the media to task yesterday and last night on various programs.
But the media is STILL reporting the same lies.
This provides an excellent opportunity to even more emphasize the connection between Iraq and Queda and the slackness and bias of the media. Overall the outcome has been advantageous. Public opinion is determined and set over a period of time, not by sound/word clips of the moment. It is partly the responsibility of those so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful site to make sure this happens.
We know Saddam worked with the PLO and other terrorists, he funded them. He at LEAST knew that 9/11 was coming.
Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper Al-Nasiriya carried a column headlined, American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin. (July 21, 2001)
In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.
The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden will strike America on the arm that is already hurting, and that the US will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, New York, New York.

Great sources - and what stark contrast with the politicized initial renditions of the 9/11 Commission report. Opportunity has been provided us...
I must agree..Bush just gave a great speech and included this...It gets them talking about the connection again..Bush NEVER blamed Iraq in conjunction with Al Queda for the 911 operation...Bush said Iraq supported and sheltered terrorists and that there were links between Iraq and Al Queda.
Fox is now reporting on Putin's assertions Saddam planning attacks on America at home and abroad. He gave this info to Bush after 911...(not joint attacks with Al Queda)
