June 18, 2004 -- The opening night of next month's Demo cratic convention in Boston is set to feature an emotional party tribute to hometown hero Ted Kennedy, who has served in office longer than every other senator but one.
Guess no one at the Democratic National Committee took a close look at the calendar: That July 26 salute to Teddy just happens to coincide with . . . the 35th anniversary of Chappaquiddick.

hmmm....idea for anyone who might want to FReep the event. Show up wearing life vests?
Yeah, I would love to get an early bet down on whether this part of the calendar is changed. Surely they will move the Teddy tribute to another day?
And that's just a great theme for them to start with, no? poor Just F*cking Kidding (as my daughter dubbed him), he can't get a break can he?

Rumor has it that he's driving to the center in his Oldsmobile with Personalized Plates - MARY JO
With 24 hour news and Greta he never would get away with this today.
Wanna bet? The Republicans in Congress (and elsewhere) had many opportunities over the years to "take care of business" with this unindicted felon -- and chose to take a pass !!
I have little confidence in the system anymore. The very thought of this dispicable human being in the halls of congress makes me sick to my stomach.
I hope this "celebration" isn't moved. Ted Kennedy should have spent a good portion of his life in prison for driving poor Mary Jo into the water and leaving her there. For some reason, I doubt the RATS tribute will mention the anniversary. But WE will.
HEHEHE. You just can't make this stuff up...the irony is delicious.
Guess no one at the New York Post took a close look at the date Chappaquiddick actually happened, either! ;) Unless you define the anniversary as being a week, and not a day, their anniversary info is incorrect. Chappaquiddick actually happened on the evening of July 18/morning of July 19, 1969, and Ted pled guilty to failure to report the accident on July 25. None of these dates coincides with the July 26 Kennedy salute.
July 26th is the day Fats Teddy learned the backstroke and has been taking us backward ever since.
I'm not trying to bust anyone's bubble here but the date of the infamous party was July 18th, Mary Jo was found on the 19th and we landed on the moon on the 20th. On July 25th, Kennedy made his national televised speech because he was finally "free to tell what happened."
This is not to take anything away from what Kennedy did (I've been there, took tons of pictures at the cabin, the bridge, the ferry, the motel etc.) but the Post simply has the date wrong.
Also the first line posted by baynative states: "Two important events happened in the spring of 1969. Man walked on the moon and Mary Jo Kopechne died near Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts." Obviously July is not in the "spring of 1969."
Again not trying to be critical but, as the saying goes, "Facts are stubborn things."
Oh, they noticed. This is the Dem Elites way of telling "we the sheeple" that they are the ruling class and can commit crimes with immunity.
