Jsut saw a promo..to paraphrase..."his remarks at his Father's funeral have set off a controversy...." Is there ANYONE the media will not exploit to further their cause and bash Bush?

It's quite shocking how ill-informed some of the people around here are.

"Do you even have a clue what kind of "Republican" Ronald Reagan was? Taxes? Deficits? Compromises?"

All I recall is that I lost money during the Carter tenure, made money during the Reagan tenure, lost money during the Bush 1 tenure, made money during the Clinton tenure, initially lost money during the Bush 2 tenure but am seeing signs of hope.

And now you know. Yes I have clue.

Ron seems to have "issues." I'd like to know what specific quotes have been made or actions the President has taken that would be construed as using Reagan. Ron is clearly seeing something that is not there.

love...love will keep us together...think of me babe, whenever...some sweet talkin' girl comes along, singin' a song, don't mess around, you just gotta be strong and stop. CauseI really love ya, stop.. I've been thinkin of ya, look in my heart, and let love... keep us together. You. You belong to me now, ain't gonna set ya free now, when those girls start hanging around, talkin me down, hear with your heart, and you won't hear a sound just stop cause I really love you. Stop, I've been thinking of you, look in my heart and let love... keep us together, whatever..
young and beautiful, someday your looks will be gone, when the others turn you off, who'll be turnin you on? I will, I will, I will, I will be there to share forever, love will keep us together, said it before and I'll say it again....

I was born in the early 70's, and I LOVED that song! I'd write the lyrics to Muskrat love, but I get all teary eye'd when I hear that.. sniff, sniff
Oh, I almost forgot to make my point, wait, I didn't have one, but I am curious to know what you meant by your Captain and Tennile remark...

Scarborough is busy saying that Michael Moore's movie is "thought provoking."

I heard that too. It's only thought provoking if you are a complete idiot!

Jr. put the provocative remark into his speech to kick start a floundering career. Before his father's death he had been relegated to dog shows and sporadic MSNBC commentary. Two venues that offered minute ratings and public visibility.

But he seized the opportunity that his father's funeral offered him, his little moment in the sun, to slap down GW. He's smart enough to know that the media (who hated his father with a burning passion the day before his death) would be slobbering all over themselves with the thought of the potential damage that Jr. might inflict on Bush with his snide remarks.

Jr.s hasn't been successful in any ,of the many, careers that he has attempted. He still has to live off his fathers accomplishments.

This was your statement:

I'll say this, I believe Pres. Reagans blood would boil considering the "compromises" republicans (republicans he made possible) have made to satisfy the thirst of democrats.

And rather than having anything to back that up, now you're telling us your opinion of people are presidents is based on how much money YOU make?

Your statement doesn't even match your last reply.

As I stated, you don't even know what kind of Republican Reagan was -- so you shouldn't judge others by your greed.

I seem to recall that each of the living Republican Presidents, (Ford, Bush 41 and Reagan) were honored during the last national convention. Nancy, who rarely left her husband, attended the ceremony accompanied by Maureen Reagan, who had less than a year to live. Ron Reagan, who was invited, did not attend or accompany his mother even though he was in town the exact same night.

I guess he had something better to do.

He better strike while he can - they won't have much use for him after the election.

"Scarborough is busy saying that Michael Moore's movie is "thought provoking."

Moore has his moments. Problem is, most folks can't seperate the wheat from the chaffe. O yea, it's a simple process of cultivation. Sad to see so many folks having such difficulty with such a simple process.

Chris Matthews said yesterday he was going to do an exclusive with Ron Reagan.

I said right off when I posted that Ron Reagan was taking a swipe in his eulogy at President Bush (which is his choice--I just was pointing out the facts), I said to those who said they didn't want to believe that, that I was positive Ron would be appearing soon in the media to make it plain.

I was not one bit surprised to hear Chris then announce the interview. Will Ron be coy? Or will he spell it out? I plan to watch and find out. But I don't think he's being exploited. He said what he said in order to gain attention and evidently had given his MSNBC buddies a heads up. He wanted this and he's the one exploiting his father, IMO.

Do YOU have any idea what kind of Republican you are?
The majority of the deficit is from MILITARY opperations. We are the number one nation in the world, it doesn't come cheap... besides deficit is not always a BAD thing! Also, Reagan did not single handedly cause that whole deficit, don't forget who was in office before him... it takes a while for those budget numbers to add up my friend. And another friendly reminder, compromise is also not strictly a bad thing either, nor does it insinuate that Rondal Reagan was a liberal republican. I'm a little surprised by your post... are you a seminar post-er???

Did you notice that Michael pointedly said he was incredibly proud to have the Reagan name? Michael is adopted, and I believe he said something like, "I can't imagine anyone not wanting it." Patti pretty just sat there smiling like the dufus she is.

That sister of Nichole Simpson struck me the same way. I have little use for people who use calamity in their family as a stepping stone.
